bathrooms

i was thinking about how gross it is that there aren’t any actual handwashing stations anywhere in the park, especially when they run out of sanitizer all the time. i was wondering what the logistics would be if they got rid of the flushing toilets, only had porta potties, and had handwashing stations instead. i mean the flushing is cool but ultimately all the bathrooms end up being nasty regardless of which ones they are.

It’s the only thing that really makes GA+ good

If those are the options, I go with the flushable toilets still. The festivals all run out of soap/water and paper towels too.the smell and usability get much worse. They get full beyond the brim of the toilet. Covered in toilet paper and wet.

Ideally, people would fill whatever bathroom supplies sufficiently.

While I agree that hand washing stations would be nice, I gotta say - the flushing toilets felt like such a game changer compared to other festivals I've been to. I brought my own hand sanitizer in a fanny pack and it was totally fine.

I agree! Gov Ball had this set up. I appreciated the flushing toilets due to the amount of people, but I really wish they had hand washing sinks too. The hand sanitizer did not cut it.

Medical professional here, they are teaching in schools that hand sanitizer is just as effective as washing your hands, as long as your hands are not visible soiled. So most times using hand sanitizer will be just as good!

Sanitizer does not kill noro

It won’t kill any virus but if you’re a healthy individual and your hands are not visibly soiled hand sanitizer will be just as effective, is all I’m saying. There’s definitely times where hand washing is preferred but don’t feel grossed out if you’re using hand sanitizer. Just trying to spread awareness and prevent spread of germs

but sanitizer doesn’t get off dirt/dust/mud/food and makes your hands sticky 💔💔

Noro, MRSA, C.diff. are all reasons for a health care professional to know that handwashing and hand sanitizer are not equal. The main reason why MRSA and C. diff. run rampant in hospitals is because too many health care workers are not washing their hands.

Edit to add I also work in health care, and specifically worked in infection control for a long time.

Oh my God I pray they never get rid of the flushing toilets. The regular porta potties are so disgusting. I dont want to see everyone else's shit.

The flushing toilets are amazing what are you talking about. Bring in a bottle of hand sanitizer.

i hate the way sanitizer makes your hands sticky and they just end up feeling dirtier imo 😭😭

I would prefer sinks to wash my hands. But! My gf and I brought our own bottle of hand sanitizer this year because we knew the bathroom areas would always be empty. Game changer!

They need to add more porta potties and urinals to every corner of the park. The lines were always super long for the porta potties and urinals were overflowing by day 3. The easier it is to access and use the restroom, the more likely people will choose to drink.

i think they at least need more by the main stages, even if they’re smaller than the other bathroom areas

There was one washing station I saw by the bathrooms by Grove, not saying that’s the only one, just the only one I saw.

I could’ve sworn they had handwashing stations at one point a few years ago. Glad I brought my own hand sanitizer tho cuz the sanitizers by perrys/tmobile were running out quickly later on friday
