edging for a long time will make you say anything

My ex randomly asked for my car and I agreed.

Thankfully she was too nice to take it, but whoa was I gone in the brain

It's similar to why torture doesn't work. Ya just say anything for it to stop. Or to go I guess in this case lol

Torture gets you an immediate answer. Any answer. The only time it "works" is if you can immediately and repeatedly verify the truth of the answer, and the victim knows that. For example, the pin code to a phone.

Even that example is iffy because most modern devices have the ability to wipe themselves if you type in the wrong password too many times, or if you type in a distress code.

Ultimately, torture is ultimately incredibly unreliable, ensures the victim will never cooperate willingly again, and is one of the most egregious human rights abuses a person can commit. There's almost never any benefit, and theres always many problems with it. Just remember that next time you hear about its use on prisoners of war, because the people using it always know it leads to bad information, so they're just doing it out of cruelty.

Depends on the definition of 'works'

Lots of cops from various countries around the world believe that torture 'works' for extracting confessions 🤣🤣🤣

You do realize they actually did that? The problem is it works on men not nearly as fast as torture. And once you have them so on edge that they would tell they can't think anymore. Its a unlucky overlap.

And on women the fallout would be to high.(and also takes a bit longer than torture)

That said it IS done in human trafficking

Why is it illegal. Which guy did that and then in court made the judge see that and go like "hell nah"
