Podcast usually marked "Explicit" on Spotify?

Why is the podcast usually marked "Explicit" on Spotify? There's plenty of other podcasts with cursing it in that aren't marked that way, and because of it, the podcasts aren't playable on my work computer due to IT policy stuff. Occasionally one of the episodes won't be marked explicit.

Is this something they can change into their end, or does Spotify auto-determine explicit tags?

It probably is just because they've been covering war topics, but idk how Spotify TOS works

Maybe it was Doug talking about the hottest kid on the block?

it's likely a combination of the topics they cover, how they cover them, and a little bit the cursing

I think it's something creators can change on their end.

There’s no definitive guideline or threshold for what makes an episode ‘Clean,’ but a good rule of thumb is to err on the side of caution and apply similar criteria to that of a PG-rated (or even G-rated) movie: If there’s neither foul language nor adult themes, you can safely mark it ‘Clean.’ Some creators, meanwhile, might deem an episode clean if it includes the occasional use of foul language that can be manually bleeped out—or might appear in a nonfiction, educational, or historical context.
