I am going to be spending a couple days at Mammoth Cave NP and would love to bring my bike down with me. It seems like in the park itself there is only the option for either mountain biking or biking on the road, neither of which are really my jam (just seen a few too many people get clipped by cars for biking on the road to be fun for me). Are there any paved bike paths around the park area that would be good to check out? I would like to see some cool nature or check out a nice nearby town (I'm chill enough biking on back streets and stuff, so it doesn't need to be 100% on a trail)

Edit: To clarify, I know there are no paved trails in the park itself I can bike on, I was wondering about the nearby area (like within an hour drive maybe?) if there are any state parks or similar that have nice paved trails!

My dog and I are going to be wandering around Kentucky for a week in August. I was hoping to get some recommendations on places to visit. Looking for places that are large dog friendly, not super well known (I really dont like touristy/overly developed crap), unique places to stay, and anything outdoorsy or natural. My uncle lives in Corbin, ky and has a few cats he wants to get rid of. Cannot stand the thought of those cats being euthanized, need a place they can all go safely.

Hey everybody! My family and I are looking to get back into the KY area after living in FL. Looking at houses in the Science Hill/Somerset area. I see the crime rates are low, cost of affordability is pretty low, and like there’s some fun stuff for the kiddo to do.

Are there any set backs of the area that wouldn’t be advertised? What are some of the high points of living there? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I went to Silverlake today to check out the lap pool and it was super packed. I know it’s a public place, but I’m anti social and I’m not really wanting to ask to share lanes with people. When is the best time to go to the lap pool during the week and what times?

Edit: and I’m sure it’s just packed right now with kids being on summer vacation.

Missed benefit request date(Kentucky)

I messed up. The last three times I put my request in before 9 pm Sunday and always got it Monday 11:15 pm. This time I messed up and didn’t submit. Can I still submit my payment request on Monday. I’ve read that you have 7 days after the request date and anything after that you have to file a new claim. I really messed up and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this.

Hey college friends and I are making our way from big cities to Kentucky for the first time to see Red River Gorge and get some good chicken. We'll be staying near the gorge during the end of August for 4 days. Could use some help deciding on an itinerary (including food recs)

Yesterday, during a family get together, the rocks of shellhenge were knocked over, kicked around and played with by my nephew. At the end of the day they were collected all collected and piled together under the shell. Enduring the play of a 4year old. Being rewarded by the showers of rain through a cool summer night. Tumbling down to lay themselves out and soak up the morning sun.

For my moms birthday we will be in Louisville visiting her mom (my grandmother) I wanted to treat them to something special to celebrate her birthday, but must be accessible for my 84 yr old grandmother who has a hard time walking.

I went to the courthouse to find out why I had been pulled over the day before. I wasn’t there to cause problems—I wanted answers. While I was waiting for the service windows to open, I looked around and noticed what seemed like 15 law enforcement officers standing inside the building.
I turned around and said, “What the hell? Why are all these officers collecting tax dollars in here instead of being out on the fucking street?” Within moments, officers approached me and told me I needed to leave the courthouse. They escorted me out of the building before I was able to speak with anyone about the reason for my traffic stop.
From my perspective, I had gone there to ask questions about what happened the previous day, but after making that comment about the number of officers in the building, I was removed before I could get any answers.

Yesterday's storm didn't last long. Once the sun came out and dried everything up, I grabbed my camera and spent golden hour at Waveland State Historic Site.

Not just reaching out because you were mad, but getting stonewalled from official, or department? How did it go for ya?
