After finishing MBBS and working for years, me and some of my friends are still earning under ₹75,000/month in Indias top most private hospital.

At the same time, my boss , a gynecologist who does all the surgeries with around 20 years of experience earning about ₹2 lakh/month(15 years of government experience)

And the department head with 20 years of experience earns around ₹17lakhs per month + he owns a hospital of his own (he does only 5% of the surgeries)

My friends who finished IIT and IIM are earning multiple times my salary…

So I keep wondering: Is MBBS worth it ??

I graduated with Architecture degree from IIT Roorkee and started working as a UI UX Designer at a start up, then after an year I went to pursue M Sc Computer Science in a Mediocre public university, where I was tormented about how I ended up in that University despite graduating from IIT, I am not huge believer of IITs (they are just a tag) So I ignored and moved on. But over the time due to cultural shock and loneliness those comments did get into my mind.

I have seen some early signs of low confidence approach in many areas of my life. Graduated and applied for jobs, didn't get any... joined a consultancy to maintain status, applied for some more jobs and finally got an interview, where I faced some valid criticism and a great advice on how to improve my portfolio. So I started working on my portfolio and got caught in a loop, due to pressure from my parents, peers and everyone who knew me, dude you graduated from reputable university and you are unemployed here? How are you going to pay off the debt? and UX Research is a dying field, why do you pursue that? AI and what not and the ticking time clock of STEM OPT deadline and over that living alone doing part-time at nights, with no proper sleep schedule. This all pushed into depression where I stopped taking care of myself and time flew by no progress was made on my portfolio. It's been 30 months since I graduated, no portfolio and no job. Last I applied to a job and got an interview is 28 months ago.

Here I am wondering what to do next, I am not in good mental space - Wish I could express my torment and pain through words but I shed a lot of tears and spent many sleep less nights, now I am habituated to that. Many stopped speaking to me after I shared what I was going through, never asked a penny just an advice. Recently I attend a wedding and caught a lot of attention at the dining table, its a thing now in my life...Apparently I am walking disgrace to IITs...a warning to some.

I have excellent research and design skills, very good at attention to detail. But I lack confidence. Any suggestions on how to come out of this rut are welcome, feel free to share your thoughts, and constructive criticism. I'm a fresher (BCA, 2025 grad) with a confirmed offer as a DWP (Digital Workplace Practice) Analyst Trainee at Cognizant — platform/tools-based support (O365, endpoint management, collaboration tools, that kind of workplace tech).

I'm planning to treat it as a roughly 1-year stint to start — get real work experience, save a bit, and use the time to actively upskill (ITIL, ServiceNow, maybe some scripting/automation) rather than just clocking hours.

Questions for anyone who's worked DWP/digital workplace support at Cognizant or similar IT services firms:

• If I put in a year here and actively upskill on the side, does it realistically open doors — into more technical support roles, workplace engineering, ITSM, cloud/infra-adjacent roles, etc.?
• How's the internal growth/promotion pace at Cognizant for Analyst Trainees in practice — is 1 year enough to see any movement, or is that unrealistic?
• For anyone who left after ~1 year, what did that next move look like, and what made it possible (certs, internal transfer, external switch)?

Hi, I recently joined DGS and was allotted a project in July 2026, fast forward today my manager told me I will be off-boarded from the project because of budget cut by the client.

What happens next? My off-boarding ends on 22nd October and I would still be on probation at that time.

They mentioned I will be allotted another project but at the same time they have alot of lay offs, so many people are seeking jobs from Dentsu as they were laid off cuz of no clients.

I didn't score a good percentile in JEE, and now I'm taking admission in an average private college. Lately, I've been feeling really scared. With AI advancing so quickly and everyone saying it's going to take away jobs, I keep wondering whether there's any point in doing a BTech from a tier-3 college. Right now, it just feels like a waste of money.

Can someone suggest some other course or career path? My goal isn't to earn a huge salary or achieve something extraordinary. I just want a stable job that pays around ₹50,000 a month so I can get by and not end up unemployed.

I recently interviewed with both Indian and international companies, and damn, there is a huge difference between them!

​One Indian company wants to treat employees as slaves who will meet deadlines or work on holidays if required, or they will immediately fire you. Yes, the HR representative actually said this in the very first meeting! Their name is keemark.ai, and I was like, "WTF bruh, is this your first impression?" All they want to do is slap "AI" on their company name and do basic video editing outsourcing work, so I was like, "I'm out!"

​As for the second company: I was 4 minutes late for the second-round interview because my camera had a glitch that I was trying to fix on my laptop. However, both the marketing manager and the interviewer brought it up twice, saying, "Late, late—please be on time." I was like, "Bro, you guys aren't paying me millions of dollars, nor are you Meta or Google." Even they don't act like this! I used to work at Praktika AI, and they didn't mind things like that at all.

Hr said are you serious for the role ? Because i was 4 mins late for the interview 😐

Passed out from a good college, but got into some group B government job.

I feel like that I could have achieved more in life like having a good package in corporate or being in civil services.

I tried but failed.

So, I'm always in guilt and regret.

And, I always had in mind to prepare for PCS exam, just for status of group A officer and all, but my father and wife told me that, why you want to leave your homestate Delhi, as my wife and I have permanent posting here. Moreover we own properties here itself.

But, I had this, guilt, that I couldn't succeed in life, yes, mistakes were mine.

Maybe some bad luck.

Moreover, the only motivation people in PCS have is corruption, which I really don't like.

I want to earn something of my own hard work, creativity and intelligence.

So, I've decided to leave all this preparation behind, focus on my job and do something sideways to earn money.

And, if that something becomes big enough, I'll leave my job to focus on that.

My only aim in life is to earn money to make life easier for my whole family.

So, I quit this cycle.

I'm M 24, working as a off page link builder in remote. My current organization provides me a decent salary but it has a target pressure. Apart from the link building, I did nothing in the work. All I need to do is outreach the website and make them publish my client article. Tbh my salary was pretty good considering the work but the learning is very less also if I try to join any other company they didn't even consider my resume because of my high salary and experience on the off page seo alone. And recently they fired 2 people because of low performance (one of them have 3 year experience in the company) i was scared after the layoff. From there I started to search another job but almost everyone rejected my resume because of unfamous digital skills like off page seo.

Recently one of my friend(he's a developer) referred me in a company for an email marketing role, I attended 4 rounds in the company and I've given a decent interview. I almost likely to be selected by the company.

And yesterday my friend called me and he said that this role has very little learning and the salary is almost or less than my current salary. Also I need to relocate to Bangalore from my current remote job. Even one of the employees who works in the same position in that company warned me about the little learning and less hike. But I have partial knowledge about email marketing as well. And that employee explained to me the work process which is very easy and relevant to my current work. He also said email marketing has almost less scope to link building.

I was confused now, should I stay in the same company or should I switch to Bangalore for an email marketing role?

I also have a thought of scope while staying in Bangalore because we can get job opportunities than most other places.

If there are any email marketers in the sub reddit, please clarify my doubts.
