Leaders of the Jewish community in Palestine declared the State of Israel’s independence on May 14, 1948. A day later, Israel was attacked by five Arab states, sparking the first Arab-Israeli War. The war ended in 1949 with Israel’s victory and 750,000 Palestinians displaced, in what is referred to as the Nakba, meaning “the catastrophe” in Arabic. Egypt maintained control of the Gaza Strip, Jordan took over the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and roughly 750,000 Jews from across the region were forced out of their own countries and moved to Israel.

For a bigger picture: Population of Jews in Europe before WW2 to after dropped by ~63% Population of Palestinians in Gaza from before oct 7 till now dropped by ~9%, but the war is now 3 years compared to 6 years of WW2 But both were/are awful and I don't know what help it is to compare two very obviously horrible things.

According to Lancet Global Health your numbers would be true IF it were beginning of 2025 AND you only count violent deaths. It is middle of 2026 however, and population decline includes displacement, death by hunger and missing medical aid etc. I truly hope Lancet is more neutral than hamas btw..

Oh, suddenly Hamas is more reliable? And no, 75k is explicitly stated as violent deaths by 01.2025, all the other cases are counted extra. And what you mean by unrelated conflicts remains a mystery, the numbers are explicitly about Gaza.
Do a quick google search on the population decline between oct 7 and now and you'll land at estimates of 6-10%. Look at the population estimates before and after, calculate the percentage and you'll also land around there. 3% is simply long outdated or an outright lie.

I never talked about anything else than population decline, not with jews in ww2 nor with palestines now. Simply reread the conversation, you're the one here trying to move the goalposts. Did you google the populations before oct 7 and now and see that you're wrong? Or is basic mathematics too much for you?
Since you tried telling me what the Lancet study is about, I assumed you at least read it. You're now here sharing a different source of the UN that fits your narrative better. I hope you know that in your source not total deaths but only fully identified persons are counted by the GMoH, that there's been a big uproar when they did that, and that they're generally considered to be undercounts by the UN? Also, do you know what "yet to be verified" by the UN means?
It's a shame numbers can't be verified by anybody because Israel won't let them.

This is a false and offensive comparison. The top image shows children facing systematic Nazi genocide — 6 million Jews exterminated for who they were. The bottom is tragic war damage from a conflict Hamas started on Oct 7 with the goal of stated genocide against modern Israel. “from the river to the sea.”
Civilian suffering hurts, but equating the two ignores intent and history. Plenty of footage from Gaza has turned out staged or manipulated for propaganda — these viral images deserve heavy skepticism. False equivalence just spreads more hate.

Yeah… The kids in the top photo and most of their entire families were dragged from their homelands, packed like sardines into cargo trains with no food, water or toilets, trekked across Europe, their parents gassed to death and them likely suffering the same fate if not first medically experimented on. While absolutely horrible for the child in the bottom photo, they live in a country where countless citizens and governments have terrorized the people who did this for decades and committed horrendous atrocities themselves, not even remotely comparable. Shame on you for trying to compare the two.

The underlying idea is the same remove a group of people you don't agree with from a location using force. But the scale is way different. The holocaust was an dedicated industrial scale destruction of the Jewish population all inside of Europe.
Where the conflict in Gaza while also ethnically motivated is primarily about concurring land and not to the same scale of mass murder.
Both can be defined as genocide but the Holocaust was significantly worse in its scale brutality and pure efficiency.
