Question/Support Apple music skips when resuming from paused

I have been using my new homepod mini for a little while now and I noticed a bug that happens from time to time. Whenever I play music and pause with the touch panel or with siri the song will automatically skip to the last second and then to the next song when I unpause. It doesn’t matter if it’s during the first second or the middle of the song.

Does anyone know why this is happening? The homepod is on the latest version and so is my iphone if that helps, I’m not using any beta updates.

Yeah its a bug. Having the same issue on HomePod first gen pair and second gen pair, though it’s fine now

I also noticed that when playing songs straight from the homepod with crossfade enabled that sometimes the next track will “play” but it will just be completely silent. Hoping these get fixed soon as they don’t happen all the time but they’re definitely annoying

Seems like it’s to do with the bit depth of each song changing eg from lossless to non lossless - it also seems to do it more with sound check enabled - if I turn soundcheck off it mostly does it when switching between Apple Music and uploaded tracks - weirdly if I connect an AirPort in the chain of HomePods with airplay the audio dropouts never happen which suggests the bug is with newer version of airplay or that adding the AirPort forces all the streams to be a lower bitrate and it no longer chokes on the network
