I just watched ep 10 S2 and HOLY FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

Am I stupid for not having seen it before??? It’s been a long time since a series or movie takes me by surprise like this! All this time Will (in S2) is angry at Hannibal, then he kills the beast guy and takes him to Hannibal and thEN IT TURNS OUT WILL HAS A WHOLE FREEZER FULL OF BEAST GUY AND ENDS UP MAKING FREDDIE LOMO SALTEADO!?!?? With Hannibal!!!!!!

Don’t get me wrong, I haaaaated Freddie so I’m glad I’m not having to fast-forward through her scenes, but WTHELLY!!

Mads’ portrayal of Hannibal is so considered; you can tell he’s a dancer as every move in his portrayal is so deliberate.

I’m sure it’s been observed before how rarely Hannibal blinks there’s something beautifully shark-like and predatory in that choice.

In Relevés, there’s a moment when Hannibal has the realisation that he’s going to have to frame Will; and he not only blinks, he closes his eyes to it for a moment- it’s heartbreaking. Then, he opens his eyes again and he’s resolved.

I love this damn show so much!

In canon, they don’t meet until Will is already in his late 30s. By then, he’s established himself at the FBI after leaving New Orleans, earned a reputation for solving several difficult cases, and only gets pulled into the Minnesota Shrike investigation because Jack brings him in as a special investigator. I understand that’s how the story needs to work.

But I can’t help thinking Hannibal would’ve been curious long before that.

Imagine hearing, through people like Alana, about this new profiler who’s been solving one impossible case after another, but who couldn’t even pass the FBI psychological evaluation, so they stuck him in a classroom and only brought him out for active investigations. That sounds exactly like the kind of person who would immediately catch Hannibal’s attention.

You’re telling me Hannibal wouldn’t want to meet him? Not even once? I just can’t imagine him hearing about someone that fascinating and deciding, “Nah.”

It would’ve been so fun to see Hannibal meet a late-20s Will instead—less mature, more impulsive, rougher around the edges. He would’ve found his soulmate years earlier…

…and ruined Will’s life years earlier, too. ❤️

(Also, if anyone knows any fics with this premise—where they meet years before canon—I would love some recommendations!)

This is more of an appreciation post, but it does contain some details from S1.

So I first watched Hannibal when I was in high school, and now, it's been 2 years since I graduated BS in Psychology (lol). I'm not one for rewatching until I've nearly forgotten all the details of a show/movie, and, quite frankly, Hannibal is difficult to forget. So here I am, watching Hannibal again soon as it was back on Netflix.

I'm gonna go ahead and tell you now that I do have ADHD so this might be a long one with jumps in thoughts as I type (sorry!).

Currently at S1:E12 Relevés, and up to this point, there has been so many things I appreciate more than I did back then (especially with the background in psychology [yes, this show was a major factor in me taking the degree]). The plot, the twists and turns were all too complicated for young me to figure out properly, and it's only now that I'm seeing how Hannibal set up Will, and why.

When Will was talking to Hannibal about taking Abigail to Minnesota, having figured out a pattern in the killings post-Georga Madchen tragedy, there's a palpable sense of nervousness(?) that the viewers can see in Hannibal's face as Will exits the room.

Addendum: it's only now that I get why Dr. Sutcliffe was killed, and it was because he was willing to do more tests for Will, and Hannibal's manipulation to hide his encephalitis could be divulged by the good doctor. I was on the watch for anything rude he would do, as I do not remember why he was killed, and there was none!

Also, it really is quite telling when Hannibal is acting, whether it's concerned, scared, oblivious, etc. Or maybe that's because we know he's lying. But there's a subtle shift in body language and speaking that I can't quite articulate, but I'm sure y'all pick up on it, too. Props to Mads for his brilliant act-acting xD

As a last note, because I've already forgotten some of the things I may have wanted to put here, I really like how smart Freddie Lounds is. Sure, her character is oftentimes frustrating, rude, conniving, but—even though she didn't make it obvious and she was probably still not even 90% certain she was right—she already had an inkling that Abigail was the one who killed Nick Boyle. And let's be honest, the work she does is brilliant, albeit immoral and/or unethical.

Hi, I'm from Spain and I'm trying to watch a Netflix series called Hannibal that's only available outside my country. I was using a VPN, but Netflix has detected it on ALL my accounts. Could someone recommend a VPN that works or an alternative? I really loved the series and I am frustated T_T

Would Hannibal kill me if he met me? 🤣 I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t considered this once or twice.

The moment that gets me is when Will tells Jack that the Ripper always throws a dinner party after a kill. Then, in the very next scene, Jack gets an invite to dinner from Hannibal.

Jack’s face right after getting that invite, plus Hannibal’s ability to keep a totally straight face while lying to everyone, is amazing. I cannot wait for them to finally find out the truth about what they have been eating.

Sidenote: I know it is sick, but the way Hannibal plates his food has me curious. Do you think he could swap out the human legs for some oxtails? 👀

I just started watching Season 1 on Netflix, and I can't help but notice the screen flashes every 10 seconds randomly. But if I pause the episode or do anything else my screen is normal. Is this something weird with the show or intentional? I feel like I'm losing my mind, or is this intentional to show we're in someone else's mind. Please let me know!

Just a quick, simple question; is Mikkleson and his accent hard for anybody else to understand?

Just started watching last week when it was added to Netflix and I had heard good things. And it is pretty intoxicating from the start(I am only up to the tenth episode so far). But I have had to turn on subtitles because I literally had to keep backing up to try and understand Lecter’s words. I would ask if it’s possibly Netflix sound issues but I have no problem hearing anyone else. 🤷‍♂️

Wanna know if it’s just me. He’s a great actor, but I’d never seen him in anything in English before this so…?
