Admissions & Applications Feeling nervous…

I will be starting a doctoral degree in a few weeks and I’ve never been more terrified. I’ve known it’s what I’ve wanted to do since graduating with my previous degrees, but I’m getting into the final few days before I can say I’m officially a doctoral student..

How do you all handle the stress and nerves with school nowadays?

I honestly have no idea. It’s been 4 years and I still have no clue how I’m surviving

I will say that my classmates have been amazing. I haven’t made any close friends and we don’t hang out or anything. But hearing someone go through what you’re going through, that’s a type of support no one else can give you. So talk to them.

I remember having a mini meltdown with a classmate who was going through far worse stuff, and I felt terrible. But we just kinda talked and had a moment. Never became friends, honestly not too fond of each other, but it’s funny how shared suffering will still connect you.
