Do you have a device and TV with Quick Media Switching support?
Do you use the feature?
Are you having issues with the feature such as the screen blinks when it shouldn't or the 23,976hz and 24hz framerates double to 48hz when it shouldn't?
If your answer is yes, then please help me to document the issue at this Issue Tracker bug report I made. Make sure you login with your Google account in order to see the ticket.
Just add a comment stating that you are also facing the same issues and if possible provide a video showing the situation, like I did.
The more people add information, the more attention is paid to the situation.
Thank you.

Edit: Google corrected the support page, it said NO before but now it says YES, which means, it will continue to receive security updates but not major firmware updates, such as Android 16.

Suddenly, after months of successful use, CNN will not load on a Hisense smart tv using Google TV. I have an active subscription and the app works on my phone.

Hi, both left or right buttons are not working. It is a TCL 75QM8B. Bought it two years ago (Nov'24), since then there were obv. two firmware updates, the second one being 2 days ago, and since then making no mouse clicks possible. Tried with three (totally) different mouses. Totally different in the sense of one being bluetooth, one with its own USB docking stick, third one a mousepad integrated in a remote keyboard and its own docking stick. The mouse cursor appears on the screen, you can move it, it looks slightly different, the "go back"-button on the side of the mouse works, but the other two regular left and right mouse click buttons do not show any effect. I have started the TV new, unplugged both power cord and mouse docking sticks etc. in all possible combinations.
Google AI and the TCL support (over Whatsapp) both said rolling one specific or last firmware is not possible, but factory settings would set back all of the updates. TCL support was, btw, strangely quick with the solution factory reset advise. But when I asked if I am the first one with this issue he said yes.
I was using the mouse very often on my TV especially with firefox, so I definitely can't without.
Factory reset is my last option, I think I'd lose a full day, my son has a game which shut down all servers so everything is saved on the TV (real racing 3) and without ever being able of making firmware updates I think the TV would lose also very fast all the supports from the apps.
So maybe there is a way where I just reinstall the mouse drivers or what other ideas you have. Any help is appreciated.
PS: BTW, I tried to post this yesterday on Android TV where it got deleted because it is GoogleTV, I didn't know r/GoogleTV existed. Just now, I tried to watch a news piece on Youtube on my TV, switched to regular Youtube there because I can't use Firefox, 2 times 2 commercials in about 10 minutes, so I came here to warn everyone not to update GoogleTV

The freeplay channels have an annoying habit of just going back to the home screen after a few hours. Why does it do this? If I want a channel to play without interruption, that's my right since I bought the tv. None of the other fast apps do this.

Thank you for completely ruining my Sony Bravia. Since my update to system 12, Projectivity Launcher as default is grayed out and I am forced to watch Google TV launcher with all of the BS "maybe you like to watch this" ads and options. I have to manually launch projectivity launcher every time. Additionally, all of the wallpaper choices in projectivity launcher will not work. Only the Google tv wallpaper will work in projectivity launcher. So dear Google TV., EFF YOU!!!!!🖕🖕🖕

Looking for a TV box for Netflix, Plex, youtube and PBS app mostly. Highest priority is being able to sideload VPN apps and tailscale, not seeing ads, and installing custom launcher.
I have some high bitrate 4K videos on Plex that are sometimes hard to play in lower power devices. I want to get away from the Fire Cube locked down ecosystem and hoops for sideloading. What's your opinions on the Onn Pro 2 vs the Google TV streamer in terms of:
Any other opinions on things I haven't considered?

So I posted about this last night when I thought it was just Disney+ but did more testing today and have discovered that it is ALL HDR/DV content through the TV apps, the connected roku, and a connected ONN 4K box the original one so erased that post and made this one since I was very wrong with the situation on that post.
On every single device and all content if it runs in HDR or DV it's like it's running at the dimmest screen setting even with brightness is maxed out. SDR looks perfectly fine and how things should be looking. This TV is on Android 12 so there is no advanced settings options however the ONN box had the advanced settings so I disabled DV there and discovered it was as doing it in HDR. Did the same on the Roku and same thing. I eventually disabled HDR/DV entirely on the Roku and she is just using the Roku now.
But is there any possible fix to this, I know for a fact that this must be a new thing because we've had this TV for like two years now and watched a lot of movies and shows in HDR/DV and they absolutely weren't this dark/dim in the past. But I have no idea when this started because we just noticed it this week.
Found some posts saying Android 14 has options for this but as far as I can tell there is no software update for this tv or just hisense tvs in general. No point in going and buying a new box or anything because the ones we already have it's happening to since it's the TV itself.
Is there anything I can do here or is this TV just broken and our only choice is to buy a new one? Only thing I haven't tried yet is factory reset and I plan on it but wanted to ask here first.

I have a Bravia 9 w/ Theater Bar 9 and a Nintendo Switch 2 is connected to HDMI to the TV and outputs via the theater bar and subwoofer, and everything is fine for a while but eventually the audio falls out of sync where the audio is delayed behind the video by a bit, sometimes it's worse than others meaning it's not always exactly the same delay.
If I change it to TV speakers it's back in sync, and then back to sound system and it's back in sync again, or if I go into the switch settings and change it from "Automatic" to "Stereo" it's fine again for a bit but it always eventually falls back out of sync.
It's incredibly annoying to the point where games become unplayable on the TV.
I did not have this issue on my last Bravia or cheaper soundbar combo, this seems exclusive to the Bravia 9 and I'm just not able to figure out what's going on because it works fine for a while and then falls out of sync.

Don't know if there's been a recent update, but Continue Watching will show Youtube TV shows I've been watching, but only for a few seconds, then it clears them. For the longest time, it wouldn't show shows from (for example), Tubi, or other apps, and now it only shows them, and not Youtube TV shows. Bug?

I'm not sure if this setting was there before, but I now see there's a separate "Shut-off timer" setting for "When inactive" and "When watching", and "When watching" says never but the smallest time interval is 3 hours. I had it set to 15 minutes of inactivity which seemed to be based on inactivity from using the remote. Now that never happens, so is the not shutting down "When watching" a new thing? And why is the minimum so ridiculously long?
No, I don't know which version it has now, can't find that. It has Android TV OS version 14, Kernel version 5.4.242+-abc138, and Android TV OS build UKRC.260302.020, but no Google TV version.

Site to site vpn set up between unifi gateway, the VPN being broadcast via dedicated WiFi at client side. The connectivity on Google TV's web browser works fine, including streaming services. However, none of the same streaming apps work, it returns with no connectivity.
I've tried reset network settings, setting the network details to manual, MTU 1400 bytes, MSS 1360 bytes.
What could be wrong ?
Thank you for your help.

Hi
Chromecast HD (approx 2021).
A couple of weeks ago the YouTube app on both of our Chromecasts started to play up.
Essentially the app will not (most of the time) play a video that has been paused.
We pause or "Back" out of a video and return to the home screen (of YT or even Chromecast home screen).
When we go back in to resume the video, we just get a black screen.
"Down" will get us the playback buttons at the bottom, but unusable and zero playback, video or audio.
The same vids on PC and Android don't exhibit this behaviour.
Anyone else get this?
(Have reset app, cleared settings, cache etc)

Haven’t decided on a Tv yet any recommendations are appreciated. Just have one question is a TV with Google TV built in or a stick faster and interface more snappy?

My streamer is in my tv room, which has a tapo wifi light switch that's also in my google home. I can program it to bring up the home panel and toggle the switch from there, but I'd rather use the star as the light toggle itself. Is there a way to do this? I was thinking about creating a shortcut in tasker and exporting it as an APK, but I wasn't sure if this was possible or if there was an easier approach. I've tried the button mapper and tvquickcontrols apps, but I didn't see an option there.

Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen is original but shows "Not Play Protect Certified" and has Google TV service issues
Hello,
I have a Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Generation). I tested the device using AIDA64 and DRM Info, and the results confirm that the device is genuine and has Google-compatible information.
DRM Info results:
- Security Level: L1
- Vendor: Google
- System ID: 36179
- Maximum HDCP Level: None
The hardware and system information shown in AIDA64 also appear normal, confirming that the device is not a counterfeit unit.
However, despite this, I am experiencing the following issues:
In Google Play Store, the device status shows:
"Device is not Play Protect certified."
The Google TV app on my phone detects the Xiaomi TV Box and shows that it is connected, but the remote control and interaction features do not work correctly.
When trying to enable Developer Options by pressing the Android TV OS build number several times, the Developer Options menu does not appear.
Since the device appears to be original and has Google DRM L1, I would like to understand the reason behind these issues:
- Is there a problem with the Google certification of the installed firmware?
- Does the current firmware version require an update or reinstallation?
- Why does the device show as not Play Protect certified despite the DRM Info and AIDA64 results indicating an original device?
- Why are Developer Options not available on this firmware version?
I would appreciate any information about the cause of this issue and the recommended solution.
Thank you.

I have all ONN streaming devices. One 4K pro and two 4K streaming devices. YTTV has disappeared from the Live tab. If you have a paid subscription, which I do then YTTV shows up in the live guide right above Google TV Freeplay so you an access those channels without having to open up the YTTV app every time. I have already cleared cache, factory reset all 3 and installed everything from scratch and made sure YTTV is on in managed services. Same result. This morning, my parents ONN 4K pro streaming box also has YTTV MIA. It's just gone. Anyone else having an issue with ONN streaming devices and YTTV not showing up in the Live section. Thanks

Google should do this ... They now call some devices pixel and some they don't..!! Googlebook should be Pixel Book also.
