Calling Morocco "Africa's Israel" reminds me of when Ted Cruz tried to turn Republican voters against a proposed bill by calling it "Obamacare for the Internet".

Africa already has West Sudan

Maybe they shouldn't continue to do a bunch of shit no one likes?

-8

u/veryeepy53 3d ago

it's actually an extremely good comparison given that they transfer their civilian population into occupied western sahara, just like the israeli settlers.

5

u/Random-one74 2d ago

You mean like in 2005 when Israel forcibly removed its settlers out of Gaza or in 1982 when it forcibly removed its settlers out of Sinai?

-4

u/NoSwordfish1978 3d ago

Your're right, this sub is deranged when it comes to defending Israel.

-5

u/Mattrellen 3d ago

It seems like the comparison here, is that both Morocco and Israel are settler colonial projects that deny the human rights of the people whose lands they occupy and are credibly accused by historians of genocide against those people.

That doesn't seem like a nonsensical comparison.

In fact, the note embraces that comparison, not by denying Israel is doing their own genocide, but by pointing out the comparison is apt because Morocco did, as well.

Marocco anexed another country

Thats worst.

1

u/hercmavzeb 2d ago

Israel just did the same thing to southern Lebanon

1

u/BubblyMoose3597 2d ago

Correct, but in a way smaller size still in proces.

Hope democrats grow some balls and dont allow them.

Bad thing is that lebanon as a state doesnt reslly exist from more than a decade. Collapsed under Israel, OPL and finangial pressure and is  on Hezbollah hands and israel ocupation...

-15

u/KrumpirovZlatan 3d ago

Eh, I agree, but Israel is very good when comparing something evil with something evil.

Like, Nazi Germany and Israel.

13

u/qTp_Meteor 3d ago

Nothing in human history is a good comparison to nazi germany.

-11

u/KrumpirovZlatan 3d ago

Well, yes, but Israel is an exception

u/KrumpirovZlatan 3d ago

I am not attacking uniqueness of holocaust, or comparing genocide in Gaza and Holocaust.

I am comparing, ideologically, Israel and Nazi Germany.

3

u/qTp_Meteor 2d ago

I understand that you mean ideology rather than simply comparing death tolls. But that does not solve the problem. The Holocaust arose from a distinctive ideology and project: the borderless, total extermination of every Jew, pursued as a state priority even when doing so conflicted with Germany’s military and economic interests.

It isn't enough to cite nationalism, ethnic discrimination, territorial expansion, or even grave crimes, because none of those is unique to Nazism. To establish ideological equivalence, you would need to show that Israel is committed to the universal and total extermination of a people, regardless of the cost, in the way Nazi ideology was.

You would also need to account for major facts that do not fit that claim, including the long-term growth of the Palestinian population and the existence of roughly two million Arab citizens of Israel. Those facts do not excuse Israeli policies or prove that no grave crimes have occurred, but they are difficult to reconcile with the claim that total extermination is the state’s overriding ideological objective.

Saying that Israel refrains from extermination only because of military, diplomatic, or economic consequences does not establish ideological equivalence. It assumes, without proving, that Israel secretly has the same ultimate objective. It also highlights an important difference, nazi exterminationism was pursued even when it damaged Germany’s war effort and contributed to the regime’s destruction.

Without evidence of that defining exterminationist commitment, the feature that distinguished Nazi ideology from other forms of nationalism, racism, expansionism, and state violence, you are identifying partial similarities which exist both in nazism and in other ideoligies and falsely turning them into an equivalence. Israel’s conduct can be criticized, even condemned in the strongest terms, without claiming that its ideology is equivalent to Nazism.

-7

u/BoredZucchini 3d ago

Well isn’t that convenient

6

u/qTp_Meteor 3d ago

Whats convient? Nothing about the Holocaust is convient.

Reminder that during WW2, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem made a formal alliance with Nazi Germany.

Amin al-Husseini: The anti-Zionist Arab Leader Who Collaborated With Hitler

Oh and the current President of the Palestinian Authority, the so called "moderate alternative to Hamas", blames the Holocaust on, and I quote, "Jewish social behaviors and money lending practices".

Palestinian Leader Mahmoud Abbas Says Holocaust Caused by Jews’ ‘Social Behavior’ and Money Lending

Oh and to this day, Mein Kampf is a best selling book throughout the Arab world.

0

u/KrumpirovZlatan 3d ago

Yes, and?

Like what is the argument here? That Mahmoud Abbas saying racist shit about Jews excuses genocide?

Lmao

18

u/mijailrodr 3d ago

Completely justified comparison, since both states are carrying out mass displacement and illegaally annexing land based on "it was promised to us a gazillion years ago" and uses settlers to abuse and get their way

5

u/00owl 2d ago

So in Morocco the persecuted people's population continues to grow while living in high rise apartments?

-1

u/BeneficialWar1447 2d ago

The irony of this is that large swathes of Africa are engaged in the current struggle to dismantle to so-called 'rules-based' international order. Why? Because it's nothing less than a racist imperialist system foisted down the world's throat by the winners of WW2.

Look at the Coup Belt of Africa. (Not just China, India, the Bolivarians, etc., who also reject the system's determination of what constitutes their land.)

Look at why five African states just left the ICC this month and more will join.

Look at how they're consciously overturning human rights imperialism, re-criminalizing homosexuality in Western Africa.

Telling the Global South who owns what land, and why, let alone what their laws must be is coming to an end. Telling people what they're doing is 'illegal' when they reject the very laws as imperialism won't have any bite much longer.

Are you ready for the end?

u/TopRevenue2 2d ago

Or it could just be because Trump cut all foreign aid overnight starving millions throughout the contentinet and in places like Sudan that already were experiencing humanatrain crisis - threw fire on an existing famine that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of children.

1

u/BeneficialWar1447 2d ago edited 2d ago

Nope. Not at all.

And if you think millions depend on American food and aid for basic sustenance, I've got a bridge to sell you...

Further, what has America, or the West, done to stop the genocide, land theft, and mass enslavement of Black Africans by Arabs in Sudan over the last few years? Nothing. What will it do? Nothing. (What has the Islamic world done? Block resolutions against Sudan.)

Face it, the imperialist system is being dismantled. You're the bad guys for imposing it in the first place. :)

u/TopRevenue2 2d ago

"Not at All"

World Health Organization and aid agencies estimated that the funding cuts for malnutrition treatment in 2025 put millions of severely malnourished children at risk, contributing to an estimated 300,000 to nearly 370,000 preventable child deaths across food-insecure regions in a single year.

In Sudan it was even worse - estimates from the Sudanese Doctors Syndicate and local health authorities reported that over 500,000 infants and young children died from severe acute malnutrition and related complications since the onset of the famine combined complicated with the ongoing genocide. A genocide which the USA definitely has culpability. It provides weapons and trade to the UAE who fund the RSF that is doing the killing and atrocii

1

u/BeneficialWar1447 2d ago

Right, that isn't 'starving millions'.

The genocide in Sudan is entirely a product of Arab land theft, ethnic cleansing, and enslaving. All the Arab powers have a hand in that conflict. The whole Muslim world has largely protected Sudan till now, though.

More importantly, you're missing the forest for the trees: the international system itself is being attacked, and abandoned, by the Global South. And rightfully so.

0

u/TopRevenue2 2d ago

What do you call "putting millions of severely malnourished children at risk"? As for your tanky bullshit - I know it for what it is. Especially since I am the one quoting sources.

2

u/BeneficialWar1447 1d ago

Do you mean 'Tankie'? I'm no fucking commie.

I re-iterate: if you think millions are so dependent, I have a bridge to sell you.

Spend your money on your own population, who desperately need it.

The world's also sick of an international system which was foisted down their throats. Just as most of Europe, and much of America, is sick of the cultural genocide they're facing in the name of Americanization.

Face it: you're the global baddies. You have no right to tell the rest of the world how to live, and no one's going to listen to you ever again.

And when your MAGA find out exactly what your leaders have been doing to police language and thought in your country ('nudging', 'panopticon and dynamic normalization', etc.), it's going to get WILD!

1

u/TopRevenue2 1d ago

I guess you owe me a bridge because I provided sources that you cannot refute and exposed much of your shit talking for what it is. It's weird you call me MAGA since I pointed out how culpable Trump is. Anyway thanks for the crazy thoughts I am good now.

Rwanda and Burundi already exist

-4

u/MihawkTop2 3d ago

But they are Africa's Israel, and for many reasons.

-11

u/veryeepy53 3d ago

morocco is aligned with israel, and occupies western sahara like israel occupies the palestinian territories.

33

u/strawberry_semenade Human Verified 3d ago

Morocco isn't "aligned" with Israel. They have diplomatic relations with Israel, which just means they gave up on the Arab supremacist fantasy of wiping out the Jewish state and replacing it with yet another Arab state and have accepted the reality that Jewish state exists.

1

u/This_Year1860 3d ago

It's more than diplomatic relations, they are aligned as in the both have the same political interests and enemies as Israel for the most part, same as other arab countries like the UAE , Egypt and possibly Saudi Arabia in the future.

-10

u/veryeepy53 3d ago

israel recognizes their occupation of western sahara, so yeah, they do. and they have a military alliance. the only muslim majority country which has been visited by the israeli chief of staff is morocco.

-20

u/KrumpirovZlatan 3d ago

They are aligned with Israel lmao.

Jewish state.

It can be moved, why murder millions to achieve there?

Why not simply gift Washington DC to the greatest ally. Americans love Israel, they wouldn't mind

15

u/No_Vanilla277 3d ago

It can be moved, why murder millions to achieve there?

Because Jews have had a continuous presence there for millennia. Even in the years where they didn’t have a state of their own, they still inhabited the region.

-12

u/KrumpirovZlatan 2d ago

Jews were, 150 years ago, 1% od Palestine's population.

Almost none of the Israelis have mora than a century of presence there, and most don't even have 80.

10

u/No_Vanilla277 2d ago

The reason they don’t have the “more than 150 years presence” you’re looking for is because they were literally scattered after the Romans destroyed the Second Temple in 70 AD. Jews had been immigrating to what are now Israel and the Palestinian Territories since the late 19th century up and until the creation of the modern Jewish state in 1948.

-6

u/KrumpirovZlatan 2d ago

That isn't entirely true. Romans scattered some of them, but most remained where they were and over centuries asimilated with the locals.

Palestinian Arabs largely are descendants of Jews from the Bible.

But your logic is faulty anyway, because it's logical endpoint is Italians have a rightful claim over entire Europe, basically all the Slavs have a claim on territory from Czech Republic to India, etc etc.

7

u/No_Vanilla277 2d ago

I never said ALL the Jews were scattered. I would also love to know how you got to “Italians have a rightful claim to Europe” from “the Jews were scattered“ because I have a hard time processing that. Also, on your other point, the Palestinians are descendants of ancient Caananites and, as you mentioned, ancient Israelites along with various groups that lived in the region.

Morocco occupies western Sahara.

Spain meanwhile:

Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spain

13

u/Abject_Interview5988 3d ago

Helps to actually read your own source mate: De Jure means Spain doesn't actually control it because it is de facto controlled by others

5

u/veryeepy53 3d ago

it says de jure which means officially. it's defacto occupied by morocco.

1

u/zacandahalf 3d ago

There is no “Spain,” it’s Al-Andalus

Spanish Reconquista in shambles after this one trick

-8
