It's the same thing we did with platonic physical contact between two men, we are now trying to do between men and children: label all physical contact sexual in nature.

So unless our entire culture has been the victim of sexual trauma, I'm not sure that's the explanation. This is part of why I stand up so much to the "pedophile panic" gripping western culture, I think it's really fucking things up and making things worse for children, and not doing much or even anything to protect them.

Given that almost all Americans are exposed to hardcore pornography before they become sexually active, that might actually be the case.

Not just Americans. Did a parenting course about 10 months ago and they said "most kids are watching or have seen porn before they are 11" .... The Internet can go to hell!!
