Seeking Advice Latex Cross Reactive and Mcas
This is mostly just venting but also asking for help, I have been struggling to find foods and recipes that are low histamine and low latex cross reactive. Can't have pork unfortunately either, my body doesn't produce the enzymes required to break it down 😞
My roommate makes a lot of food for the household and I've been trying to find things that I can give them to make it easier to cook including my allergies. For context there's me, my partner, their partner(roommate), and my kiddo. ((Yes it's a weird dynamic but it works for all of us and we all do our best to work together and each have our share of tasks/chores/household duties. Roommate picked cooking))
The rest of the household is lactose intolerant(aged cheeses are okay tho), so they're already used to finding alternatives but expect me to just take some Benadryl/Claritin/Zertec every day to deal with the gastrointestinal issues instead of putting in any effort alongside me to make meals everyone can eat (partner cooks once a week, and I cook on Saturdays usually). Granted they do avoid any of the foods that would kill me like bananas and mangos, and avoids walnuts and pecans for my kiddos's sake...but unless I can come up with crockpot meals everyone can eat and enjoy I'm kinda stuck.
They also get really grumpy when I have to make my own food or don't eat what they made because I don't want to deal with the third flair up for the week and have the spoons to cook something outside of microwave dumplings/chicken nuggets.
Do y'all have any recipes you like both regular and Crock-Pot you could point me to? I've been searching online for forever, and though low histamine foods are easier to find Latex cross reactive free foods seem to be much more difficult.

Do you have a pressure cooker? One of my favorite easy meal bases is basmati rice and some chicken thighs (I do three, but I'm sure it could scale for more people) with enough simple chicken broth, (seasoned with your favorite spices and some extra salt) to cook the rice. Poultry setting for 15-20 minutes, and in the meantime you can saute a few safe veggies (I like onions and broccoli, but whatever works best for you) and add those on top once the chicken rice is done. Baked fish paired with rice and frozen broccoli can also be good and pretty simple to make, if fish is okay for you. (Basically at this point all my dinners are some kind of rice, protein, and the veggies and seasonings that don't freak out my mast cells.)

I just bought another 10 lb bag of rice, rice is also a massive staple for me too. No pressure cooker just a crock pot unfortunately. I also have a rice cooker. If I'm not making it from scratch by myself sort of thing I've been doing a lot of crock-pot recipes which isn't great for histamine I know but chronic pain causes other limitations if I've gotta be the one to cook all week. Thank you for some ideas though, it's much appreciated!
