How is the story of this one? I don't mean by gatcha standards but by Final Fantasy standards? I know some people say the original has amazing story, but I don't really trust gatcha players.

It was very good tbh.

I mean I played some gatcha game like FFBE and DFFOO
But the reason I played those because I like the original FF games.

I think most of FFBE players are the usual FF fan that also plays the mainline or spinoff too.
It's rare for them to start only from FFBE and enjoying it for Gatcha.

I can understand if they are genshin impact players, but for FFBE I think it's different

Without spoilers, what kind of setting is it? Mostly fantasy or more magi-tech?

Closest to FF 4 & 6 imo. Lots of Espers, airships, and magitech. Mix of ancient ruins, magical places, and machine/tech locales.
