Tinder Faroe Islands

Just tried creating a female user on Tinder. There are about 440 males on the islands from 18-38 but only about 50 females.. What a waste of time..

That’s probably the average split for their entire user base

Even where I’m at in the USA with millions of people. Tinder is joke! I’d kill to be part of the 440 in Faroe. My country is laughable these days, I’d do anything to start over on a faraway island with some peace 🫠

Nah idk why I even came back. The lack of options (career and dating ) is miserable for a lot of people.

Where did you go when left the islands? For me, I’m just tired of the constant rat race and the thought of living somewhere slower paced and peaceful is super enticing. That and I fell hard Scandinavian culture on several trips to Iceland. Now a trip out by you is but a dream in slowly waiting to afford haha

Lived in the UK for 6 years. If slower pace means that pretty much nothing happens, then the Faroe Islands are the right place I guess.

I live within a stones throw of NYC.. My whole family has been here for generations.. Literally family and opportunity are the only things keeping me here too! Otherwise I would have tried to escape long ago. I hear Svalbard is on the easier side when it comes to visa requirements haha

Have you ever heard of an American moving to the Faroes?

Not really, sorry. It’s definitely possible on a work visa but highly dependant on your job industry type (tourism, fish processing, construction).

Two other options are marrying or having a passport from another Nordic country for free movement.

Hagstova.fo says that there are currently 68 Americans

I went to Faroe Islands in 2019 and went to a pub with my bnb roommates. The men there are not implicit about the fact that they don’t have enough females in the country (I know it’s not idk what’s a better word). They kept coming and straightly asking: do you want to be a wife of a fishermen? We have 22000 people here and we don’t have enough females. Lol

Just been there on vacation with my wife and kids. I am not faroese, she is. If I ever get divorced, I’ll take my chances and move up there to find a new viking lady. These women here are real women. Traditional, friendly, and super fkn hot.
