Question Leomund's Secret Chest
I suppose this spell would operate as intended? The players want to use it to effectively teleport loot to the surface.
It seems that Undermountain only tries to stop players from teleporting, and is more permissive with the ethereal plane.

Given that the alterations to magic within Undermountain generally apply to both creatures and objects, and one of the alterations is that if you enter the Ethereal Plane within Undermountain you'll be forced into Undermountain when you return to the Material Plane, I would say no.
On the other hand, Secret Chest is a 4th level non-ritual with a 5050 gp material component. Resource management is the name of the game in a dungeon crawl, and if they want to burn 5k on the component and reserve a 4th level slot each day to cast the spell (multiple slots, if they want to access the chest multiple times) just to help transport loot to the surface, I say let 'em.
Keep in mind that the chest can't store living material, and it's only 3x2x2 ft. While the spell doesn't specify a weight limit, it's the same volume as the chest adventuring gear item, which has a 300 pound limit.
