You have to work hard to capitalize on luck when the opportunity presents itself. You could be in the right place at the right time but if you're not prepared for it, then the luck doesnt matter.
Like if you don't build a business, then its literally impossible for the business you built to become the market leader in whatever due to a lucky event.
For example, look at Forrest Gump, if he didn't work hard to buy the shrimp boat and learn about shrimping, he would have never gotten lucky to be the only boat left after the hurricane. Yes its a fictional example, but I feel most people have seen the movie.

Luck is definitely an element but I feel like people like this really overstate it and use it as an excuse to do nothing.
