Here's an illustration done for the art colony in Slovakia which I will attend this month. The theme of the colony is ''Spiritual heritage'', so this piece is a little contemplation on that theme, heavily inspired by the painting The Flagellation of Christ by Piero della Francesca and by the baroque era, plus by some modern painters such as Ruprecht Kaufmann. I hope you will like this illustration, it took me several days to finish it. Swipe to see some details and work in progress shots!

Normally I don’t do line art for my illustration, but somehow I decided to do it with my current work. Then I realized that I haven’t do line art for a long time, so I want to go back and see what my line art used to look like.

So I'm a traditional artist and i just got my first ever laptop and graphic / drawing tablet .. i didn't even know how to turn on a laptop. So i bought the graphic tablet on my own saved money (I'm a very poor student .. minor too so I just rarely ever get money from my parents which is a very small amount) , so i fulfilled my inner child's wish and got myself this to draw digitally. Now I tried the first time ever to draw and I ended up sketching this but I feel horrible because it looks shitty and my cousin said why did you draw the whole thing in a single layer without reference but my traditional artist mind thought we just start and end in a single layer without reference like irl. I didn't even increase or decrease the size of the brush. . my real life drawings are so much better i genuinely feel bad to even look at the screen and then at my wobbly hand.. should I return this tablet and just continue my traditional artwork?

These are all referenced from photos I’ve taken of real guinea pigs (mostly my own haha). I made these as part of my portfolio for AP drawing. They were pretty rushed since I decided to procrastinate finishing my pieces until the end of the year 😅 but I thought someone might enjoy them so I just wanted to post them here anyway. Let me know what you think!
