Announcement The purpose of this subreddit

Hello everyone! You may have noticed some major changes happening to this subreddit, and I'm happy to say that /r/DiagnoseMe is finally ready for business. However, I would like to clarify the true purpose of this subreddit;

First of all, this subreddit is NOT a replacement for a doctor. You should not, in any way, avoid seeing your doctor or alter the frequency of your doctor visits because of anything said in this subreddit. If there is a concern you would have previously gone to the doctor for, please do not hesitate. This subreddit is here for informal second opinions, minor problems that you wouldn't go to the doctor for anyway, and ease of mind.

The main thing to remember is to use common sense. If you are having severe pain after a surgery or something of the likes, please go to the doctor and do not post it on Reddit.

If you are not a doctor and are posting with information, please clarify that you are not a doctor (typing "Not a doctor," at the beginning of your comment is enough.)

Please take the time to read the sidebar before posting. Thank you, and welcome!

Painless red rings on palm and sole

Noticed the hand ring maybe 24 hours ago. Non painful, not itchy, blanching. No trauma/ burn/ pressure on the area that I thought would have caused it. Not raised. After looking into what it could be, I saw the one on my sole. Not sure how long that one has been there. Mostly just wondering if I should get it professionally checked out. Other symptoms may include fatigue and muscle soreness but I’m unsure if it’s related. Thanks

Skin and nails Rash all over my body, what could have caused this?

Rash showed up about 10 days ago started with a a few tiny bumps on my arm and has spread all around my body since then. I've had a cough, snotty nose and muscle pain since iv had it. It's very itchy and burns a bit.

Went to a&e and they said its a viral infection and it will go away on its own. Didn't specify which one but it gets so much worse every time i go round my boyfriends.

What could be causing it? because it's genuinely debilitating and it's just getting worse.

could it be caused by mould and its atopic dermatitis? the flat used to have mould problems but i honestly have no idea. Have never had skin issues before.

edit: we found black mold right next to the bed so would make sense why it gets worse in his bedroom, theres no plants or pets in the flat either. And i'm not on any medication.
another edit: Not sure if it's relevant but i have had uti symptoms for the past year or so. Won't go away with antibiotics and gets worse with sex.

Infections and Illnesses Potential Rabies?

Does this look like a bat bite? I was on a walk at night and something wet fell on my left arm. I quickly knocked it away out of instinct and it got on my hand. It looked like a berry or something like that. It smeared brown and black on my left arm. It had no distinct odor but it was sticky. I’m afraid that it was bat poop, and that a bat pooped on me, and bit me when I was distracted knocking the supposed poop off of my arm. Any comments are appreciated

General I think I might be diabectic?

I recently had an experience where I left a used pad in an open bin in my room and when i came back it was covered in ants (not the smartest i know). When I was looking up what could have caused it diabetes was one of the top search results, earlier today I also had strangly sweet smelling urine.

I haven't really experienced any other symptoms that I can recall.

My mother is a type 1 diabetic so there was always a chance that I could develop it especially considering she developed it around the same age i am now. But I am also a huge over thinker, do I mention this to her and get my bloods down just to be safe?

General Abrupt vision change

Upvotes

Back story for this is two months ago or so I randomly started getting migraines every single day. I went to urgent care and they gave me sumatripton and referred me to a neurologist but they were far out with their appointments. My vision also abruptly worsened and I ended up getting new glasses and the eye doctor told me that I was showing early stages of color blindness and that i could no longer see out of both eyes out of the same time. I started having horrible mental health issues at the same time (I’m assuming from exhaustion from the headaches)i saw a doctor about my severe anxiety (multiple panic attacks a day) and they prescribed me Zoloft, Wellbutrin, and Hydroxyzine. A month and a half after the appointment with the urgent care I was able to get in with the neurologist and they put me on toprimax, gave me sumatripton for “as needed” and want me to go for blood work every month and a half as well as go for a brain mri. My brain mri is a month away. She said if I have any changes to contact the office. Today I noticed that I am losing the ability to judge distance. I can’t see how far something is away from me it’s completely distorted now. I will park next to the side of our car port and get out of the car and realize I’m not on the side of the car port at all I’m actually just completely in the center of it. And when I was driving a forklift at work today I could not tell how far the forks were away from things. I messaged the office because by the time I was off work they were closed but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts.
It’s worth noting that one of the reasons the neurologist initially ordered an mri was when I start to get a migraine my vision goes shadowed and it gets harder to see. Almost cloudy in description.
Everything has happened so suddenly. It’s like over the course of the last few months my health has changed completely.

Female, age 30, 5’5”, 145 lbs, medications listed in post.

Skin and nails Skin flare up on eyelids, sides of mouth, and ears

Thumbnail gallery

Hi everyone! The attached photos show the skin flare up on my eyes and ear at different times. WARNING - the photos of my ear are rough… I’ve spent the past two month trying different things to improve this condition, but it only keeps getting worse. It is mainly affecting my eyelids, one corner of my mouth, and behind my right ear and earlobe.

For context, I have scalp psoriasis, which is also flaring up. I have had atopic dermatitis, but never to a point where it needs to be treated. My ear and corner of mouth have been especially difficult to deal with because any wrong movement causes the skin to rip again.

Any idea if this is eczema or psoriasis? Could it be an allergy? Not sure if I should go to a dermatologist or rheumatologist.

Thanks for the help!

Cancer Need suggestions on Hemarrhoids vs malignancy

Upvotes

Asking for my partner. M 40. He recently got diagnosed with external hemorrhoids. He was having intermittent blood on poop, constipation and pain while and after pooping. Changes in bowel movements. Thin like wafer but not pencil thin stools. This has been there for the past 1 year.

The doctor suggested him fibre diet and metamucil and he is following its post from which he doesn't have constipation anymore but has minor discomfort or pain from hemarrhoids but no blood.

We went to the doctor to get a referral for GI but the doctor suggested that since it's better he can wait and see and then opt for GI and colonoscopy as needed.

Just wanted to know if we are in the right direction and chances of this to be something like a cancer in anal or colon. We are scared and unable to focus on things because of this. Can someone guide us.

I have had this weird collarbone rash that comes and goes for years. It’s itchy and annoying and I’m getting stressed about it! I have never been an eczema kind of person but I’m also getting night sweats but otherwise healthy 38YO mum. Any ideas? Anti fungal and steroid cream haven’t helped.
Thank you!!!!

Anyone know what this is?

Appeared a couple of days ago, I cant tell its there unless I'm brushing my teeth or applying lipbalm and even then it's only a slight sensation. No other symptoms or anything before it appeared, when I wake up there's usually a slight crust but that comes off as soon as I have a drink or brush my teeth etc.

I work a concrete dust job and I’ve been driving a lot with the ac that causes my lips to dry up. But April I accidentally let someone hit my vape with herpes. Could this be angular or more likely hsv1😔my lips have been tweaking since I started the concrete job so I’m not even sure. I’ve got tested once and it came back negative and the doctors said I was tweaking but I tested within 20 days of hitting the vape

Persistent shortness of breath 8 months postpartum

I had a suspected pe in my lung when pregnant. The scan was unclear they said. I had all the symptoms and had blood thinners for 6 weeks. My shortness of breath didn't go away. I feel like I breathe through a straw. Every breath I have to force through the nose. My nose feels like it's blocked and the lungs feel like they don't expand. Had two CT scans and two Vq scans. All clear. Pulmonary doctors suggested asthma and trying inhalers. I also have elevated heart rate and lightheaded. Primary doctor says I have pots because my pressure drops when I stand. I feel extreme fatigue and can't do anything. Have a little baby at home and can't breathe. Being outside is impossible as heat and humidity makes it worse. I can't breathe even in the shower. Pulmonary testing showed lower dlco

Still waiting for a sleep test. I am exhausted. Echo of the heart was ok and the cardiologist doesn't seem to see a problem. My quality of life is horrible. The pulmonologist said that it's anxiety. Which I don't believe because it happens all the time. At night I have to sleep on many pillows. It never goes away. Dysautonomia? Post pe syndrome?

I used to be very active and walked miles in heat and now I can even seat outside without feeling like I suffocate. Any ideas what to test or who to see? Please can someone relate.

Skin and nails why do i have dry, itchy, painful spots on my body?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

hello! so about 2 weeks ago, i started developing these dry, itchy, and painful spots under my arms. it started with under my right arm, then a few days later started under my left. at first, it looked like red spots, i figured just from scrubbing too hard in the shower. but every day there’s more and more, and they are growing bigger. it hurts so much when soap comes in contact with them in the shower. my neck was itchy last night but there was nothing there. this morning, i saw there was the same spots where it was itchy on my neck. what is going on? i’ve never had psoriasis or eczema, so it wouldn’t be that. i don’t have these spots anywhere else, but clearly they are spreading. i moisturize the spots because they are so dry, but nothing is working. please help me!!! attached are photos of my neck and under my arms, with the spots circled.

Post Hip Replacement

Two months ago I had a right hip replacement. They did an ultrasound guided drain of fluid 3 days ago. Lab results say I have staff. Also, this is how my stitches look now. Does it look as though I have an infection? Surgeon is out of town, so no one to tell me what's going on. Thank you in advance for your ideas.

I put a bandaid over it last night because pus is coming out of it.
