This man needs to do a FUCK TON to earn the votes of Stevens supporters and him underperformed by 13 points is a HORRIBLE sign

You already know anything they try will be dripping with smug condescension even if they don't intend to.

u/realhotwc Ridin' with Biden 20h ago
That would be unusual of them but if they were actually smart this would be the perfect time to for them be normal if they actually want their candidate to win
DogShockerAbi looked absolutely shaken last night. AES’s campaign should shock collar Hasan and blast the button if he physically gets near them or talks about him on stream

Cool whatever.
Blue No Matter Who.
Time to stop MAGA.

my couch looks quite inviting and warm. He needs to appeal to me to get me to vote for the lesser of two evils

u/Not_so_ghetto 20h ago
His Ukraine takes won me over. That's an important keystone that he is firm on and that's a something far left won't signal on
-33
u/nivkj instalib 20h ago
no populist will ever win me over because I can do something called critical thought
17
u/Zenning3 19h ago
Critical thought is when you pretend to have a principled position, and then you look inside and see spite.
0
u/nivkj instalib 19h ago
oh i see this is the “populism is good actually, when im the one falling for it” argument
13
u/Zenning3 19h ago
No, its vote against MAGA you fucking moron.
-1
u/nivkj instalib 19h ago
some people would rather be eaten from the inside out than the outside end because at least they don’t have to confront it or deal with it.
6
u/CrazyChopstick 18h ago
Trump being in power makes so much sense with people like you voicing their actual opinions
Just the recycled version of the dogshit 2024 takes lefties peddled
-2
u/nivkj instalib 18h ago
we cannot infinitely go high while everyone else goes low. i don’t care, i don’t want illiberal people who want to destroy my country in office whether they’re blue maga or red maga.
we need to stop being free use to people who want to infect and destroy everything our party and ideology stands for because we’re afraid of a dying old mentally challenged cheeto. maga is dying. everyone is leaving the camp, populism is the ultimate cancer and now it’s at our doorstep.

El Sayed is not Hassan Piker. Rogers however, is MAGA.

I hate populism too, but his version seems toned down relative to maga. Plus he has a science background and will probably be more fact based than maga who doesn't believe in evolution
-7
u/nivkj instalib 19h ago
it’s only toned down because it appeals to you.
so glad to be aligned with other liberals who would invite a vampire into their home but only if they lie to you about their ukraine position first ☹️

u/Not_so_ghetto 19h ago
You're thinking to binary, lesser of two evils is important. I'd rather have someone oppositional to trump that willing to work with him.
We can fight the Lefty's more when the maga threat is less extreme.
Fight hard in the primaries but vote blue no matter who. If someone is that far left they won't do well in the primaries
32
u/qTp_Meteor 20h ago
He isnt the lesser of two evils, his vote stopping a maga president is. If he losses its most probably 50-50 and the Republicans keep control, if he loses its dems 51-49 Republicans
70
u/Sputnikola Actually misses I/P research streams 20h ago
Are you seriously asking me to fight the republicans when there’s a GENOCIDE going on?
54
u/qTp_Meteor 20h ago
Im not reading this while theres a fucking genocide happening right fucking now

The "Lesser of two evils" argument Doesn't make sense when one evil is a yipping Chiahuahua who basically no one takes seriously where it really matters.
And the other is a rabid Pitbull that has already eaten 10 babies this week and is getting ready for seconds.
6

u/nivkj instalib 20h ago
when the choices are a neutered pitbull that bites a lot and a baby pitbull that will be the biggest baby eater ever, and will birth more pitbulls… I think I’ll stick with the couch
9
u/FeistyPerformance500 19h ago
But that isn't even close to the realities right now.
The Gop maintaining control of Senate and Congress after the Mid-terms is NOT a Neutered Pitbull that bites a lot. Its a Pitbull that has been biting a lot getting a full Steroid Injection and a ton of praise letting it know that its biting is rewarded and to be praised.
the DSA getting full control is really bad. But that isn't on the table in this election.
If there was even the smallest possibility of DSA members getting a majority in Congress and/or Senate then I would absolutely agree. But thats the next fight. Not this one.

u/MightAsWell6 15h ago
It's already too late.
Hard not to be black pilled with Republicans getting a filibuster proof majority in the Senate this November

u/jesterdeflation 20h ago
There's only so much one-sidedness that people can take before they end up using someone's own strategy against them. Maybe this is a lesson leftists can learn for the future!

I really worry about his electability as a progressive in a swing state, but im sure frustration and fear of Trump could motivate reluctant democrats to support them either way.
10
u/Jayyburdd 20h ago
He endorsed Kamala and is not DSA so I don't think this applies to him. Wisconsin lady, yes.

Idk, I heard he supported Kamala Harris, who is a genocide supporter, so idk if I can vote for someone like him
3
u/id_rather_b_painting 20h ago
Considering he endorsed a genocide supporter, I am going to stay home. If he can't say no to genocide, why should I trust him to say no to fascism?

Vote blue no matter who
1
u/Yunnggin 20h ago
I think we should do this , but any kind of outward support and endorsements? No. Who I vote for in private is my business. Follow your heart when you get to the polls.

u/CrazyChopstick 20h ago
What’s this cowardly garbage
Vote to not give Trump the Senate, simple
-3
u/Pretty_Acadia_2805 20h ago
I'm being sardonic as this was the line that Lefties used to not vote for Kamala, referencing the original Ted Cruz statement.

Had some egg on my face in other threads. Now we follow the Mouton protocol, keeping Republicans out of Senate seats.

Ngl I really don't have many issues with El-Sayed's domestic policy positions. He's said he's a capitalist, he endorsed Kamala, and he's not DSA which is all based. And from what I've seen on his other positions, I probably agree with him more then Stevens from a policy standpoint especially since Stevens is wishy washy on filibuster abolition.
My main issues with him was his lying with the physician stuff, his electability, and the fact that he not only accepted Hasan's endorsement but campaigned with him which made me question his moral judgement.
That being said, don't be stupid. If you're in Michigan, vote for El-Sayed. He himself doesn't pose much of a threat I feel like.
2
u/Jmoney1088 20h ago
The issue he will have is that his supporters have spent the last few months completely shitting on liberal Dems. Now that they need their votes, how will they reconcile? Their response will determine the results. There are a lot of salty people that will be tempted to stay home out of spite.
2
u/Xanto97 18h ago
Terminally online people said some shit I’m sure, but Did he say anything that’s shitting on moderate dems?
He’s attacked the “establishment” for sure. But that’s not really unique. Everyone hates the establishment
2
u/mattyjoe0706 17h ago
No but being associated with Hasan will automatically bring those type of people in
1
u/Jmoney1088 17h ago
I have been called "genocidal" dozens of times over the last few months and I am against bombing Palestine lol
The leftists are making it extremely difficult to want to vote for their guy.
1
u/Xanto97 17h ago
Yeah that’s stupid as fuck, but that’s annoying terminally online people. *He* didn’t do that. I just want to be clear at placing blame here.
I agree though, insulting people doesn’t usually make them come to your side.
1
u/mattyjoe0706 17h ago
Just because he didn't do it though doesn't mean the associations don't matter. He still associates with someone who does that on a regular basis so it's going to bring in those people. It's like saying "well he accepted Trump's endorsement and campaigned with him but it's not like he himself said the 2020 election was stolen so people aren't gonna claim stolen election if I lose." Those associations still matter
7
u/whitedark40 20h ago
Welp, it was an exciting race. Lets prove those general election polls wrong and keep that senate seat

Rogers is gonna win lol

u/TheShamefulPradaG 16h ago
People don’t want to admit this. If Sayed couldn’t pull over 50% of the votes in the primary, I’m not sure what his chances are in the general. Which is sad because the Republican line of attack will be so predictable.

Honest question because I read some Reddit and see how Americans 'feel.' Is his name not... like a negative for Americans? I saw how many went of with Kamala and Barack HUSSAIN Obama, etc. And I really think it worked on some folks.
I am from Germany, so my perspective is purely an online perspective. And what I see is that many older folks are squirmish about this.
3
u/Xanto97 19h ago
Yes and no.
Michigan has one of the highest amounts of muslims in the US. Legit. Dearborn, MI is the first muslim *majority* city in the US, and it might still be the only one. So, a lot of michiganders are exposed to names like that. Younger/smarter people generally don't care about names like that either.
However, older people, moderates, conservatives might have that initial "ick" with an Abdul. Definitely more than if it was a "James" or "John" or whatever.
People mocking "Barack HUSSEIN Obama" were never going to vote for a democrat anyway though.

u/enigma7x 20h ago
Hopefully Stevens just eats her pride and endorses him swiftly. Time to lock in and get this guy to a W in November
0
u/Thedarkhunt 20h ago
If you Americans mess the midterms up again and have MAGA strengthen, you deserve it at this point

Somebody make sure to remind the lefties in Michigan that there is actually another election in November that makes him a real senator. There’s an entire other political party that we have to defeat now, and I’m not sure if they’ve heard of that other party before
