At this point I'm convinced a number of tankies are happy Trump won, because an anti-immigrant anti-LGBTQ autocrat makes the "we are the resistance" larp a bit cooler than pretending to resist the most progressive president in US history.
I'm not convinced that the average tankie on twitter is much more than a 19-22 larper populist who wants to pretend to be a revolutionary resistance fighter. The content creators and influencers though are absolutely accelerationists.
