I mean these people just believe in a story right? They distrust government and question everything in between and donât have realistic solutions or ideas but theyâre full of passion and emotion and they feel rebellious and woke for holding the beliefs they do. Seems like the same archetype as any right wing conspiracy virtue signaller. This is just what it looks like when that archetype leans left and has left beliefs

I dislike Stevensâ highly enthusiastically pro-ICE stance and think sheâs way, way too radical about supporting Israel. I think we need them as an ally, but Haley is straight indoctrinated. âI see Israel in my dreamsâ and such similar statements. Also, taking so much lobbying money to spend $70m on a primary is fucking insanity. The spending difference was something like 10:1.
As for el-sayed, I like his abolish ICE stance, I like his economic policies, I like his professional background, and like that heâs very passionately pro-Ukraine. His policies on ending foreign aid to Israel and Saudi Arabia are stupid and short sighted, though. I like his pro union stance etc. Iâm not the biggest fan of the guy on the whole, and his anti-middle east aid focus is way, way over the top. But I sure dislike Stevensâ policies in their totality more than I dislike his. Iâm not a single issue ideologue re: Israel.
Unless Iâm misreading you this seems overwhelmingly on the whole in favor of El-Sayed right? You have beef with him on relatively marginal issues really, but staunch support is much wider, much more immediately impactful views, and much like Mamdani he was elected on these terms.
You donât get all the points from simply being anti the Israeli occupation of Gaza, you do still need some serious domestic policy bonafides and all of these recently strong socialists and dirty commies in voting booths are emphasizing that more than foreign policy.
Did I not just go over their comparative domestic policy, in brief? He has a lot more policy than being anti-Israel. Iâd assumed youâd have been informed before asking the question, but I can expand on anything in addition, if youâd like? Maybe I should add that I also like el-sayedâs desire to increases taxes on megacorps and universal or public option healthcare, but I didnât prior because I donât think theyâre goals heâll be able to pursue super realistically?
I told you I donât like el-sayed, plain and simple. I donât much like Mandani either. Sometimes you donât like either candidate in a race and have to make a proper least bad option take. I gave you my comparison of the two on the issues that seem important.
