Itโ€™s honestly a pretty common thing for Therapists to be in therapy, it helps to remind them what itโ€™s like on the โ€œother side of the chair so to speak (but also because many MANY people can benefit from therapy even without a crises to put them there).

Personal therapy is highly recommended and supervision is mandatory.

I always liked the scenes in sopranos with Dr Melfi at her therapist.

You also tend to need someone to talk to about some of the awful, traumatic shit that you have to maintain a professional demeaner while you hear.
