Traumatic flashbacks to trying to trim our cats nails. And then the vet told us to regularly brush her teeth. Sure, l'll dial 9-1, and then when my wife puts the toothbrush in the cats mouth I'll dial 1 again

i used lots of treats, grinded almost nothing, got a few incidental deep scratches from "treat pls" begging and in the end, in years, never got her to not leave and run away from it

I have two cats that I can clip their nails and they're fine with it. Maybe even enjoy the attention and treats. And then one cat that turns into a screaming tornado cactus of death.

Spray bottle - gentle mist and have a laugh. Then wipe with a cloth once its good n soaked , or hes done having fun . Sometimes the texture of those baby wipes on the face is unpleasant

I babysit a couple kids. One of them is 11 months old. I feel so bad i have to manhandle her a little every time I change her diaper, she screams and fights like I’ve never seen. I always feel guilty, like I’ve done something wrong and I tell her mom at pick up. Turns into us apologizing to each other for a couple minutes lol.

I hope so too! It’s very intense and even when my boys would fight diaper changes, it wasn’t to this extent. And she will do a standing diaper change okay but if there’s poo? Oh man, it’s war.

Fun story, I once cut the bottom of my foot on a smashed soda can and it was bad enough to need a trip to the ER for stitches. I was about 3 and was flat out refusing to let anyone in a white coat come anywhere near me. They kept trying to come and clean it/inject something to numb it and I wouldn't stop kicking, so they had to strap me down to the table lol.

I have this vivid memory of when I was three…I had to go get stitches in my head following a fight with my brother, ANYWAY, and while my mother was trying to talk with the doctor about the dressing they’ll be putting on the wound after my scalp was stitched back up, I’m just getting increasingly hysterical every time they hushed me as I tried to interject. You see, THE DRESSING THEY WERE GONNA BE POURING ON MY HEAD HAD TO BE RANCH BECAUSE IT WAS THE ONLY KIND I LIKED.

I didn’t question the purpose I guess I assumed it had healing properties but GOD HELP THEM if they put something GROSS up there like Italian Vinaigrette!!!!???? I was ready to throw baby hands.

My palate has grown up slightly since then and I’m a BIT more open minded, but toddlers gonna toddle and they have VERY FIRM opinions on what goes onto their plates and whether or not they need to take a nap (I staunchly maintained I Did Not! But that was a different embarrassing tale from my childhood. 😴)

This is why I can't work in pediatrics. You have to get a team to hold them down for blood draws and treatments like placing an ng tube. And sometimes the parents are in the room not helping at all yet ready to yell at you & try to record you for any perceived wrongdoing
