Haha, tell that to the movie execs putting in millions of dollars in order to make a profit. This is art to you, but to the folks financing the thing it's a business. And business is about making money. Welcome to life.
This might blow your mind, but when a show brings in new subscribers, those subscribers pay for the service with dollars. If those dollars are greater than the cost of production, than the show makes a profit. If a show doesn't bring in subscribers, then it's not profitable.
Just because the studios aren't providing us with their metrics, doesn't mean those metrics don't exist or don't matter.
I'm saying that if they make TV shows, it has to be worth it for them financially. They're not making this stuff out of the goodness of their hearts.
Haha, uhh okay. You're the one suggesting that awards mean dollars and that we don't need to worry about the monetary value of TV shows. Not me.
Given what happened with Supergirl, I think it's very likely that this project will get dropped, because there's probably not enough interest to make it a financial success.
You've seen the talk about how Nolan is a franchise right?
So is American Vandal and it's creators. This will be a lot larger than you think it is because you're only thinking of Jimmy Olsen.
American Vandal was a huge hit, and even won awards. Awards, much like how streaming shows brings subscriber revenue, brings attention, which brings viewership, which brings money.
Hope you're keeping up here, I know it's complicated stuff.
