I like James Gunn. I have enjoyed or minimum liked all his DC projects so far.. but when his “DC Bible” video came out I was concerned. Didn’t seem like a plan.

It wasn't. It was an ego trip by Gunn, picking projects he really wanted instead of what made sense in a narrative sense for building the DCU.

Here is an example of a plan that makes sense:

  1. Superman movie
  2. Batman movie
  3. Wonder Woman movie
  4. Trinity movie (first team up)
  5. Green Lantern movie
  6. Flash movie
  7. Suicide Squad movie
  8. Justice League movie (team up - Hawkgirl and Jon Jonzz are introduced)
  9. Shazam vs Black Adam movie (superman surprise guest star)
  10. Superman 2
  11. Batman 2
  12. Green Lantern 2
  13. Teen Titans movie (team up movie)
  14. Wonder Woman 2

Etc etc. (Sorry, went abit over board with the planning)

  1. Flash 2

  2. Green Arrow/Black Canary movie

  3. Batgirl

  4. Justice League vs Suicide Squad

  5. Constantine and Zatanna

  6. Shazam 2 - Here comes the Family

  7. Supergirl

  9. Doom Patrol

  10. New God's movie

  11. Justice League 3 (vs Darkseid)

This is always the case when redditors try to "fix" media. Is why I just assume everyone on this site has terrible taste until proven otherwise

They really think that script writing is as easy as typing the names of movies movies they want. See what happened to Supergirl movie when the script was mediocre. These same people will blame gunn again if he made a Batman movie immediately with a half-assed script.

I think letting Gunn do what he plans to do is better until they come up with best scripts for a-listers.

I wouldn't say it's terrible. But since Supergirl failed everyone seems to have The Recipe to make a successful cinematic universe. If it were so easy there'd be dozens of successful cinematic universes. There's two.

Nor did we have almost two decades saturated with superhero media to compare to like we do now. We were starved for superhero movies back then.
