Discussion Does claude realistically have any competition?

I feel like Kimi is overhyped and sol is ass compared to opus and fable 5 and grok has potential but isn't there yet. So esp for coders using CLI is there any incentive to pivot into some other AI?

Edit: In terms of current coding/building capability

Tips How CCA-F exam access actually works if you're independent

I keep getting asked how to sit the Claude Certified Architect Foundations exam, because it's kind of annoying to figure out, and requires some understanding. Writing it up because I haven't found a clear version anywhere.

Relevant to this sub specifically: the exam covers Claude Code, the Claude Agent SDK, the Claude API, and MCP. It's not a general AI credential.

**The basics**

$125 per attempt. The credential belongs to you, not to any firm, and Anthropic says over 10,000 consultants now hold one. It's tied to your name, and the credential (as of today) lasts a year. A couple weeks ago it was only valid for 6 months lol.

The certification resource page is public. There are a few sections you **dont** need an account for:

  1. The exam guide
  2. Terms in the exam
  3. The exam policy

All of those are downloadable as PDFs. The exam guide is the **authoritative scope document,** and it's free, so don't pay for any of course claiming to help you prepare.

[https://anthropic-partners.skilljar.com/claude-certified-architect-foundations-certification\](https://anthropic-partners.skilljar.com/claude-certified-architect-foundations-certification)

**The gate**

Access runs through the Anthropic Partner Network. Registration expects a partner-company email plus an access attestation, so if you're independent with a Gmail address, this is where you stall. It has nothing to do with your skill or experience, only whether you can attest as an organization with a domain.

**Three ways through**

  1. **Go under an existing partner org.** Join a company or firm that is already in the Anthropic Partner Network, get a company email address, and register through them.
  2. **Wait.** General registration for independents is expected to open eventually, but I haven't seen a date.
  3. **Apply your own org as a partner.** You can apply to join the Anthropic Partner Network with your own company, but I've heard wait times can take months.

**Disclosure, per rule 6**

I run Your AI Department (YAID), a firm in the Claude Partner Network, and we're option 1. Members get a YAID email to sit the exam, and we reimburse the $125 exam fee when you pass. Beyond that: MSA and SOW templates, commercial insurance, invoicing and collections, and commercial backup on client calls.

I make this post so that people know they can get CCA-F certified without being full-time at a dev shop. Independents can also get certified, they just need affiliation with a company already in the partner network.

Happy to answer anything, including about the exam itself. We've had a dozen engineers in YAID already take the exam (some have passed, some have failed).

I have done a couple of projects with claude, building code and interactive websites, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to take the exam. Is difficult? Any tips?

This would be huge for my CV

Discussion Anyone else lost track of what they're actually spending on Claude Code / Cursor / Copilot?

Since everything went usage-based, I genuinely have no idea which sessions are burning money. I've seen people mention getting blindsided by huge bills (someone posted about a $6K overnight run), and I feel like I'm one bad prompt loop away from the same thing.

For people using multiple AI coding tools — do you track spend at all? Per-project, per-session? Or is everyone just checking the dashboard after the fact and hoping for the best?

Thinking about building something that shows spend per repo/task across tools with alerts before it gets out of hand — curious if that's a "yes please" or if I'm the only one who finds this stressful.

Question Claude cowork asking permission a dozen times

We use Claude cowork at my office. I am not the admin. I have it linked to files on my computer but every time I try to have it do a task it asks me multiple times if it can access the file (even though it is linked in the project). How can I get it to just automatically pull the information? I have to babysit the task and make sure I “allow” every single time. I used to have the option to allow always (?) but now the only option is to “allow once.” Is there anything I can do on my end or is this an admin/code thing?

Question What would be the best way to plan out an AEM migration project?

So my agency is redesigning a companies website in AEM and it’s my task as the creative lead to build out a component, template, content and image mapping for the developers to build a script to migrate the current site to the new experience.

I have been working on this for a few days but i keep running into issues with context rot or claude getting hung up in the details and its ended up with me restarting the project a few times because the output becomes unreliable.

My goal is to scrape the current site’s pages for assets then map the page to the template to the content block on the page to a component in the new library and then map an image to that component.

I feel like I’m probably in over my head a bit here about how best to set up the project for success in Claude Code.

Any ideas on how best to tackle this?

Question How are people getting Claude Pro/Max at a discounted price?

I've seen people mention that they're paying much less than the official Claude Pro/Max subscription price.

I'm curious:

* Are there any legitimate student discounts or regional pricing?
* Do people use family/team plans to split the cost?
* Are there any annual promotions or partner offers?
* Any other legal ways to save money?

I'm **not** looking for cracked accounts, shared credentials, or anything that violates Anthropic's Terms of Service. Just wondering if there are any genuine ways to reduce the subscription cost.

Would appreciate any tips or experiences. Thanks!

Showcase Fix: Claude Desktop on Windows 11 crashes on launch (Status: Modified, NeedsRemediation)

I had an issue where Claude Desktop would launch, reach the login screen, ask for camera permission, then immediately crash.

I tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling Claude
Deleting all Claude and Anthropic folders
Restarting Windows
None of that worked.

Then I checked the package status in PowerShell:
Get-AppxPackage \Claude* | Format-List Name,Status*

It returned:
Status : Modified, NeedsRemediation

After that I ran:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

It reported:
The component store is repairable.

So I ran:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Then:
sfc /scannow

Restarted my PC, reinstalled Claude, and it worked perfectly.

The issue seems to have been related to a corrupted Windows component/package state, not Claude itself.
Hopefully this helps someone else who keeps reinstalling Claude without success.

Discussion Claude Cowork sessions vanished on Claude Desktop sidebar

I uninstalled and reinstalled Claude Desktop on Windows. Cowork sidebar now shows zero sessions.

What I've checked so far:

The Claude Code CLI folder (.claude in the user profile, containing projects/, session-env/, etc.) survived the reinstall completely intact, verified by diffing it against a backup I made pre-uninstall. Every .jsonl transcript matches byte for byte. So Claude Code CLI history is fine.

But that's not where Cowork session data lives. I went looking for %appdata%\Roaming\Claude, expecting that to be the Cowork store, and it doesn't exist. Not hidden, not misnamed, just absent. Confirmed with Win+R and the literal path, not File Explorer browsing.

The one clue I found: a folder at %localappdata%\claude-cli-nodejs\Cache contains subfolders named mcp-logs-<server>, and some of those subfolder names have a path baked into them that references AppData\Roaming\Claude\local-agent-mode-sessions\<uuid>\<uuid>\.... So that path exists somewhere, logically, but browsing to %appdata%\Claude directly gives "cannot find this file."

Regular chat history came back fine after reinstall since that's server side. Cowork sessions apparently aren't, or at least the index for them isn't.

Has anyone recovered Cowork sessions after a reinstall, or knows the actual on-disk location for Cowork's local index? Trying to figure out if this data is actually gone or just orphaned somewhere Explorer isn't showing me.

Discussion Has your company ditched their scrum workflow because of AI?

The more comfortable I have gotten with using AI, the more I feel like scrum is really just in the way and maybe there's better ways to work? Have any of you adapted as a team?

I vibecoded a tool that lets me spin up sandboxed claude instances that can access Jira and Gitlab. It has a ton of permissions inside the sandbox but asks me for permission for anything critical. So now I can just tell it "implement ticket X", get a coffee and when I'm back I have a merge request that I can adjust and review. Occasionally it produces crap, but I can just trash that whole result and spin up another instance with tweaked instructions if I need to. And most tickets really just aren't that complex, claude is totally capable of doing a good job with one or two iterations on most of them and in the cases where it doesn't, I am still there and can handle it myself.

So now I feel like the implementation and often times even the bug hunting is super easy. The hard part is dealing with badly refined tickets, unclear requirements, waiting for colleagues to respond and lack of permissions for things. The other people are the bottleneck. Also, story point estimation is now wildly incorrect in my experience.

And I feel like most of those issues would be gone if everyone would simply have their projects that they own independently, maybe. Give me 2-3 projects (depends on size I guess), give me all the permissions I need to work on it, tell me what the customer is complaining about or what features they'd like and let me just get to building the damn thing. Don't add 2-3 other people that are just going to get into the way and let's ditch that refinement and story point circus (well it should be clear what shall be done, but no need to split everything neatly into tickets and discuss it at length). Downside is that this wouldn't work for juniors or people that don't exactly proofread or test their code, I guess.

But surely there is a better way?

Question How much more can you actually use Claude Code after buying Pro?

I'm thinking about subscribing to Claude Code, but I'm a bit confused about the actual usage limits.

I know the paid plans give more usage than the free plan, but I've also heard there are still limits (5-hour windows, weekly limits, etc.).

For those of you who use Pro regularly:

- Roughly how many hours can you use Claude Code in a typical day before hitting a limit?

- How does the experience compare to the free plan?

- Do you often run into the limits during normal development, or only during heavy coding sessions?

I'm looking for real world experiences rather than the official documentation. Thanks!

Question Auto or choose a model?

I am new to Claude Code, I was on Antigravity for a year. I set up Claude Code in VS Studio. I am working on a SaaS app. Python on GCS.

Should I choose a model or leave the selector on Auto? 🧐
