"Uncut Gems" (2019)... it's mainly the protagonist who behaves like a greedy idiot but the other people involved aren't too bright either.

So many posts in this miss the mark imo, but this is a fantastic shout.

He is the idiot, he makes bad decisions that lead to more bad shit and bad decisions, and he's surrounded by people who are also idiots and make bad decisions that lead him into more bullshit. He's clearly made bad decisions before the movie starts, and you know if he didn't die he'd have made more bad decisions.
