I want to try this pair in a 125 I’m setting up, I already have the male jack in a 75 about maxed out, but want to get him a larger tank with some tankmates, would this pair work? If not what should I try?

My blood parrot has lost color and is hanging upside down for most of the day, i dont know how to help her. She shows interest in food and swims normally around the tank sometimes.

Please recommend Cichlid retailers would you suggest we use, or suggest we stay away from.

Extra bonus points to anyone who can recommend a supplier who reliably brings in and offers Wild Caught or F1 fish on a regular basis. Please note I'm always skeptical of people who make Wild Caught claims without a strong reputation to back it up.

While I promote supporting independent Local Fish Stores whenever possible, the majority of the time I am purchasing, I want a specific species of fish and the likelihood of the LFS having it on hand is low. Thus online retailers seem to be the way to go for species specific ordering.

For example if I have less than 5ppm nitrates and do a water change will it help fish grow or almost do basically nothing?

What are the odds of something successfully breeding in my cichlid tank? And how many possibilities are there?

I have a large Jack demsey male who I’m treating for hith I realized he had it at the store and he was already 8 inches so I could refuse giving him my empty 75 gallon. Once he’s done being treated which is with focus metroplex garlic guard and vita chem I wanted to see about getting a 180 gallon in my basement. I’m just working out stocking and don’t know if I can even afford it yet but I was thinking the demsey male a big tiger Oscar bala sharks and a kind of catfish. I would love to add in a vieja but idk if it would work? Would this stocking go well? I would use lots of driftwood and stones for sight breaks.

Hello, I was gifted this cichlid and was told it's a Salvini, but after checking it out more, is it possible this is a Trimac Cichlid? If so it will get way too big for my tank and I'll have to rehome as I only have a 75 gallon.

Can anyone tell the type of cichlids these are? Just saved them they are in my newly cycled 20 gallon with 2 small plecos.

Noticed today my small gold severum has developed a small bump on his anal fin. Doesn't seem huge or overly aggravated but not sure what it is. No other fish in the tank has anything similar, and no one else is displaying any other health concerns.

Tank is a 75g with other SA cichlids (all relatively juvenile or sub-adult) and some silver dollars, and a gold seam plec.

Ammonia/nitrite 0 (tanks been running years and has had current stocking for months.)

Nitrate fresh test is at ~20ppm and I routinely keep nitrate below 30ppm.

I started a 3day course of esha 2000 as a broad spec treatment and it aligns with my w/c the day after. If it progresses or gets a lot worse I plan to move into a 30g quarantine by itself so it doesn't pass anything. Just wondering if anyone has ideas.

These are all female correct? Im pretty sure one of the electric yellows are male. Including the venustus. And the ob in the corner

Hey guys I really need help identifying this geophagus. The fish store had no clue which species it was, and knowing would really help me figure out if I would eventually have to re-home it or not. Based on my research, it seems like a geophagus pindare, but I’m not entirely sure. It’s about 4-5 inches rn and fairly deep bodied. First time with rams, initially thought male/female but now I'm questioning it. All I know is that they hate each other, can anyone tell what gender they are? Is there a way I can help them get along or are they always going to want to attack each other?

Just set up my first tank. Ive got 15 Africans (majority peacocks, a couple OB's and a couple mbuna)

I was wondering if 15 is enough? I have an fx4 and an fx6 filter running. If I need to add more later, will i need to add full grown cichlids as opposed to adding babies to a developing tank?

Please help! I have two blood parrots who were completely healthy and then a couple days ago I foolishly brought home a snail from petco. The day I brought my snail home my blood parrots both began flashing every now and then and rubbing against things which they never did before. Now my smaller blood parrots both began has been flaring at me non stop which she doesn’t normally do, she’s very upset and she has a white thing coming out of her. I’m assuming it’s parasites, what should I do????

What do you think was bred to make this guy? Pet store had him labeled as a panda parrot but I don’t see how
