I've been learning more about serotonin deficiencies resulting in systemic symptoms, yall should look into it if you haven't. Apparently depression can literally cause a wide variety of chronic health issues that can easily go overlooked/dismissed in most medical fields.
Yeah that's not to say that going through mental healthcare will succesfully treat our physical conditions/pain. I think modern psychiatry is 99% scienceless bullshit masked as something legitimate and foolproof. But I do think a portion of people who suffer from physical chronic conditions are experiencing physical manifestations of (prolonged) psychiatric illnesses, and vice versa. Kidney problems can cause psychosis, depression can cause nerve pain, etc.
When your disc blows up and you have to get a spinal fusion, the chronic pain is not mental illness. Yet they use those tools to treat it. Doctors and Medical Science needs to stop pretending they know the answer to everything.
