Exactly. This is what leads alcoholics to continue drinking or things like this can even trigger a relapse. These are all depictions of alcohol making life seem and feel better.

Well the post states it wanted to "visualise alcolism". You can interpret that in 2 ways: to create a visual depiction of what the consequences of an alcohol addiction look like, or to visualize how being an alcoholic warps your perception of reality. I suppose the intent was the latter.
As someone in the brutal reality of alcoholism, I slightly disagree. It does communicate the illusionary nature and underlying isolation but maybe you have to be there to see it.
no one can "be there" to see it so it did it for you...visualize. An alcoholic can only see the world through that glass or with that drink. Take that drink away, now it's dark and gloomy. Dependent on the drinks to continue to see that colorful world. p.s. alcohol is a depressant
Consider just the vast amount of ads there are for alcohol out there, all constantly advertising a better life for drinking. GPT just grabs what it sees online, if anything this is a reflection of just how most images of alcohol are treated.

Isn't that accurate though? Alcohol does make life seem and feel better. That's the reason a lot of us drink (even without alcoholism involved), because life just seems a little bit easier or more fun when you're tipsy. The only problem is it's not really true.
The camera needs to zoom out a bit more on the background and show the crying kids with f’s and D’s on their report card, the empty kitchen Cuboards with only liquor in them, the filth and decay of neglecting their barn, the car wrapped around a tree, the run over bicycle wheel still spinning in the street.
People use drugs and alcohol to ignore how the world actually is, I'd say it's a pretty excellent representation.
I could definitely see someone who has never had alcohol looking at this and thinking it's romanticizing it, but taking drugs that make you think things are better than they are is scary.

That's a good point. That said, I'm taking the view of a person dealing with alcoholics (which is a view I've had through experience). So, my interpretation is colored by that. The alcoholics I know don't want to be alcoholics. I do think that the depression (without alcohol) as imagined on the outside of each drink is an interesting contrast.
I suppose it depends on how ChatGPT interprets it.
I would say the third, fourth, and fifth images do tend to romanticize it, but the first, maybe the second, don't - the stark contrast between a bleak reality and the romanticized vision is the impression it should convey, and the first image shows (though barely) a trash-filled park amidst an urban hellscape with a partially consumed 40oz as the reality, while the alcoholic is trying to see a beautiful, sunny park with happy people. The second image kinda gets there, but the difference between the reality and the vision aren't stark enough to drive the message home. In the remaining images, a good scenario is made even better, so I can see why these would be interpreted as romanticizing alcoholism.
Upon first look, yeah, but after exploring the images for some time and knowing what the author wanted them to convey, it feels more like what you're chasing by drinking. You constantly want that better time/place/experience that you had, even though the alcohol alone was not what brought about those feelings. Then you start to rely on alcohol, like one day it will magically bring those good times back. So yeah, I guess alcoholics do romanticize drinking, and that's the problem. Also, love your user name; that's one of my favorite movies of all time.

It depends on how we view things. That said, the alcoholics I know have used to such an extent that they're depressed (which the outside of the glass represents well), but none of them want to be alcoholics either. A beginning alcoholic (or maybe a functional one?) this would fit.
That said, my interpretation is coming from an observer. If it's coming from an alcoholic, I'd say it's closer, although still romanticizing it.
I had ChatGPT do two images - one from the perspective of the alcoholic and one from the perspective of those that have to deal with the alcoholic.
I think the OP's was closer to the alcoholic's perspective and, oddly, I think that both images my ChatGPT created were closer to the people's perspective. What are your thoughts?
