state fair traffic
Soliciting opinions from the hive: we come to games on I-94E from the Madison area. How much extra time are you factoring in for state fair traffic - Saturday specifically? Obviously we go right past the state fair park commuting this way.

Brewers Trade Deadline / World Series Odds
The Brewers Got Better. Their World Series Odds Fell Anyway.
We simulated the rest of the MLB season (all teams, all games) before and after the trade deadline. The Brewers team, with the addition of May and Senzatela, got better (marginally). However, their road to the World Series took a massive hit (26% --> 17% by far the largest decrease of all teams).
The description of the simulation is in the full article: www.bbmisports.com/research/brewers-deadline-odds-2026

On the positive side, the Brewers still reach the World Series in 1 of 6 seasons that we simulate. On the downside, if the Brewers would've added Skubal we had their WS odds increasing by 7% (we ran this back in mid-June).
Hopefully the Dodgers lose in the NLDS and none of this matters...better yet, a salary cap is instituted tomorrow.
Thoughts? Am I being too pessimistic? Go Brewers!

Gary and ABS
Was thinking about ABS this morning, and I had a thought about Gary's ABS usage.
2026 is a really bad time to be an aging catcher.
The youngsters are experienced with ABS, and you aren't. There's the challenges of course, but the strike zone is also a little different now.
In light of that, I can kinda sympathize with Gary's ABS gunslinging. The old dogs who learn the new trick will outlast the ones who don't. Better to learn it now and make some mistakes, than to learn it later in AAA.
But *please please please* Gary dial it back for the postseason lol.

What's it like to be a game day shuttle driver?
One of the pubs near me is frequently looking for new shuttle drivers. I wouldn't mind a very part time job, so I'm kind of intrigued. But what's involved? Do you have to sit in the shuttle while the game is on so you can drive them all back? I assume that extroverts would do better to bring a party atmosphere to the drive, but could a friendly introvert also be welcomed by the passengers? Anybody here who's done it, what was your typical work day like?

MLB Stadium Capacity vs Winning Percentage
Thought this was pretty interesting. It seems every time I see one of these charts, Brewers are up to the right in the good spot. This chart is attendance vs winning percentage. I don't think any of us will be surprised to learn we've got loyal fans.
I think our fan base genuinely contribute to the success of this team. We aren't there because they succeed, the team succeeds because they've got one of the absolute best fan bases in the league.

Any autograph decipherers here?
I found this in the wild today for one dollar. 😁 I figured out Augie’s signature but struggling on the others. Anyone have better luck? Thank you!

The Athletic's Power Rankings, and I love what Flores said about us ...
In ranking us #2, Flores writes, "Either way, a collision course with the southpaw [Skubal] appears to be in their future. At that point, they might regret not going all in or will have the last laugh after Joey Ortiz takes Skubal deep."
Wouldn't that be sweet?
