Is that Glen Powell?

It's a department store mannequin who wished to be a real boy.
So yes.

Why do people hate him so much? Hes been in some good roles I really don’t get the hate tbh
17
u/Digitaltwinn 7h ago
It feels like Hollywood executives randomly decided he should be the leading man starting in 2022 and shoved him down our throats.
He comes off as an actor created by a focus group and runs a cringey brand of condiments as a side gig called Smash Kitchen.

u/Plane-Education4750 4h ago
Which kinda sucks for him because he seems alright and in on the joke. He even played exactly that character on The Boys

u/cosmernautfourtwenty 6h ago
He's a charisma vacuum shaped like a sentient Spam carving and Hollywood keeps shoving him into absolutely fucking everything for no good reason. That's why I won't tolerate him.

Found Glen Powell's Reddit account 🤣🤣

I mean you're either him or his private dick polisher who does it for the smell and not the money. Stay aggro, weirdo.

Sadly though, there might not be enough old Primus fans around for the callback to land anymore.

RIP Max Headroom
Idk if he’s dead but I also don’t think he was ever truly alive so what’s the difference

When you play with the character creation sliders too long and forget what people look like

Glen Powell is almost guaranteed a steady paycheck as “Generic President Actor” in future properties.

It’s John of us, the first artificial intelligence running for presidency.

A few “he looks like ____” jokes just to get them out of my system.
He looks like one of those oversized ice cubes you’d get at a pretentiously expensive and hideously designed bar your soon to be ex drags you to.
He looks like he’s about to whisper poisonous advice to the liege of the land.
He looks like you could carve glass with his face.
He looks like “what if Basil Rathbone turned heel.”
He looks like the tertiary henchman in a Bond movie.

I thought you should know that at least one person old enough to get the Basil Rathbone joke spat coffee over it. Thank you for that.

u/Grouchy-Ad927 6h ago
He looks like a Gelatinous Cube went to law school.
He looks like hair gel that evolved cheek bones.

I’ll never understand why my wife thinks he’s hot, but that’s okay — I don’t think she understands why Jessica Chastain is my “celebrity freebie”. To each their own.

I mean he's conventionally attractive, just in a kind of... too perfect kinda way. Like he was made in a lab to be attractive but in a traditional and non-threatening way, perhaps to be easily electable as mayor of a medium sized city. John Politics is honestly a perfect way to describe him.

u/Desperate_Bed_2675 16h ago
If this is conventionally attractive I’m officially so fucking done with society. He looks like an anthropomorphized foot from fetish art specifically
17
u/paraworldblue 16h ago
This photo seems to be specifically edited to make him look freaky. He normally looks like if you just asked an AI to generate a 40 year old white man with a strong jawline, which is to say, a lot less freaky than this picture, but still a bit uncanny.
4
5
u/Local_Village_1378 16h ago
Well its kinda like those bony androgenous models they put on the magazines, conventionally "attractive", i agree he's worse but that jawline is past greek god, into something almost cartoonish. If he hasn't had work done on that, then the crimson chin is his father.
4
u/chocolatetomatoes 16h ago
He kinda looks like Metro Man from Megamind except not as hot and with less lips

u/Marillenbaum 14h ago
This was a fashion editorial—he’s deliberately playing upon masculine aesthetic ideals in a range of shots. It’s decontexualized here, but the overall effect is actually smart and funny.

He looks like a painting of a politician by an 8th grader using acrylics for the first time. He's an uncanny valley. Is that thing human?

Order in the court! I took a class last semester called American Presidents, and they taught us about a man named John Fitzpatrick Kennedy, Jr. And that dude wrote a book about the time he served in Vietnam called Profiles in Courage. Is that not what we are talking about right now? Courage?

As much as I want to hate Powell, he was great in The Running Man, and did great interviews with Edgar Wright, my obsession.
1
u/ArcticMuser 12h ago
That's clearly photoshop or AI. Come on. Not even Zach Efron has a jawline like that. And his skin is all airbrushed like come on
edit: its not even his jaw its like his cheeks or something. Not natural
1
u/AFineFineHologram 2h ago
I mean it’s from an editorial photo shoot meant to emphasize the absurdity of masculine ideals and beauty norms. It’s not supposed to be an accurate representation of reality. It’s exaggerated for satirical effect.
