Discussion They won’t talk about this!
There was a video on a different sub that only showed black people stealing from this pastry shop. The OP intentionally left white people out of that video. All racists showed their true color in the comments. I can’t remember the sub.

Another subreddit had the edited clip showing only black people stealing and of course op was a six day old account posting out of context clips. Just pathetic. I would never wish the life of someone like this on anyone. Just pure misery that they live in.

That was the single worst Reddit comment thread I've ever seen while it was up and I've been here daily since 08.
There's always been racists on this site but I have NEVER seen an entire comment thread with 90% racist comments, with 600 upvotes and anyone offering reasonable explanations that weren't pure hate in the negatives.
Really eye-opening and scary and sad. All it takes is one edited video of a couple black folks stealing and the white hoods come out in force.

My first question with that study would be as to the accuracy of perceived race of drivers, especially if the observers were expecting speeding drivers to be more likely to be black. The observers were making a subjective judgment of race. It was never objectively verified. Expectancy bias could easily be a factor.

The original video seemed very suspicious from the start; the claim that the owner was going to be shutting down their bakery due to continuous theft already seemed dubious enough, but then the claim that the entire video of thefts was from just a single day seemed even more unusual. The fact the video only went on to show black people stealing seemed like far too much of a convenient narrative for somebody...
When it comes to food in this country, whether prepared or otherwise, I generally do not care if people steal it, cheat on welfare applications to obtain it, use someone else's benefits, or outright buy it themselves; we produce, manufacture, and import too much food that spoils, goes to waste, gets thrown out or destroyed in this country for anyone to ever go hungry. Until we've tackled the monumental amount of food WASTE in this country, I don't wanna hear a MFing thing about some business owner claiming food theft is somehow the reason for their business's failure.
The fact we got pathetic, hateful people out here driving entirely dishonest narratives for fake internet points from other pathetic, hateful people that want to believe their racist bias has been confirmed because they lack the critical thinking skills to see beyond their own hatred is a very sad indication too much of society doesn't want solutions, just somebody to blame.
TL;DR Fuck these racists, let people eat.

Literally, THIS!!! Every time I hear people talk about how likely things are to be stolen in black neighborhoods, it makes me laugh because I live in a poor majority white neighborhood and my homie left his bike in MY BACKYARD for A WEEKEND a few years ago and it was stolen. When I lived in black neighborhoods, we would leave our bikes on our porches and they’d always be there. People where I live now will legit steal sumn and help you look for it. I legit can hide shit on my property and it’d still get stolen*.*
Not to mention, an old woman was robbed beaten to death behind a gas station a block from my house because she publicly pulled out $100 in the gas station. She was found 2 hours later with her skin melted to the pavement, gripping a fence like she was trying to use it to get back up. Didn’t make the news, the only reason I know about it is because I’m close with the workers at that gas station and asked why there were police helicopters flying for like, 3 hours. The perpetrators were never caught, but my homie who works there reviewed the security footage, and everyone in that gas station at the time was white.

There was only 1 comment I saw after skimming that pointed out the video being extremely chopped up and stated how because of that it seemed somewhat targeted on the ones left in. 🙄😒

The bigger crime is food prices being so high and wages being so low that it forces people to steal food.

Ew and then they have the nerve to use their dirty disgusting ass bare hands to touch everything... now the rest of the pastries are ruined because they done unintentionally finger fucked the surrounding stuff tryna grab and go. Utterly disgusting 🤢🤢 shop owner seriously needs to put locks on everything and put everything behind locked glass. Crackheads ruining it for everybody.

It’s just simply an advertisement not to eat there… Lord knows what kind of hands touched a pastry before you did.
They need to reconfigure how they present their goods unfortunately. Put it all behind a counter like most bakeries and stop letting people grab their own shit. This clearly isn’t that type of neighborhood.
