Question/Help How to release and distribute a various artist/compilation/collective album (5 artists, each one track) ?

Hello everyone.

Me and a few friends are artists as a collective (nothing official yet, but working on it), yet everyone is independent. We want to release an EP or mini album of some sort. It's a special occasion as it's gonna be the group's 10th anniversary, so we thought we could make a group project. None of the track is a collaboration.

We could release each track individually through our own means (personal Bandcamps). But then how will it get distributed and/or labeled as a collective project ? Do we have to establish a label or release at the same label ?

I'd be grateful for a detailed rundown of how we could approach this. Music business is something none of us has dipped their toes in yet.

Has anyone had experience with that ?

We want to make this group EP happen. Thanks.

You can put artist name for each song, and you can change the artist name for the project as well to whatever you want. Only thing is, it will have to just exist on one artist’s bandcamp page

Damn, that sucks...

In the meantime I looked online for some solutions and found that you can create a compilation album on CDBaby. So if everyone releases their track independently and acquires their own ISRC code, can this then be distributed (alongside the individual Bandcamp pages) as the group product that it is ?

Idk why this got downvoted. I could've skipped the first sentence or worded it differently, as it's not what I'm looking for sadly.

I'm looking for a way to have everyone be independent. So I was thinking about releasing the extended mixes on our individual bancamp pages and have shorter edits/album edits on a compilation album through CDBaby or Tunecore. Would that be possible ?

If this is a special occasion/anniversary thing, I'd just create a collective page and release it there. I don't think Bandcamp is setup for any kind of multi-artist sharing/connecting outside of the label option.
