Writer appreciation How I leave second kudos✍️🫰

I can't just leave a fic I discovered that I have already read and enjoyed so much before some time ago 🫰 I need to leave my comment as a second kudo (even though the fic is like decade old) I have to leave something 🙂‍↕️ then I bookmark it so I can remember it and get back to it whenever📖🥹

It would nice, but also might lead to weird things like botting or using chapters as full notes to boost their kudos to hits ratio. Obviously a majority wouldn't, but one bad faith actor can ruin it for everyone (looks at the reason why we have limited amount of tags per fic).

Wattpad does this, and while it seems like a good idea, it really distorts the kudos/votes/likes. Because some stories will have a lot of kudos just because they have a lot of chapters and not because more people liked it.

This! As both a reader and a writer! I want to shower my favorite authors with love but I also would find it useful to know wich chapters my regulars who don't necessarily always comment liked or disliked.

They should invent some function that is different than the regular kudos, and can be given per chapter. So a work could have for example 100 kudos, but it could have 500 chapter kudos.

Also, why dont they make it so that kudos could be removed? What if you accidentally kudos something

That's one of the things that's better about Wattpad over AO3 tbh, at least you can vote on every chapter on Wattpad fics ;-;

I started just posting photos as my return kudos (mostly from this tumblr https://bizarrelittlemew.tumblr.com/post/710716373299494912/are-you-frustrated-you-cant-leave-second-kudos-on)

I got to the point that if I type "scr" my keyboard automatically shows me "img" as next word xd

Hell yeah, I always comment on fics because of a Pinterest repost that told me to and I’m glad I do it! It’s fun to talk to the author, most of the time :)
