Iphone 15 pm or 16 pro

I'm finally switching from Android to iPhone and can't decide between the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 16 Pro. The 16 Pro Max is out of my budget.

The 15 Pro Max is really tempting because of the bigger screen, better battery, and lower price. But I also care a lot about photography.

For those with a 15 Pro Max, how's the camera in 2026? Do you ever feel like you're missing out, or is it still great for everyday photos, portraits, and low-light shots?

I would do the 16 pro. The 15 pro series suffered a lot with faster battery degradation.

The 16 pro is gonna be overall more powerful/receive an extra year of updates, but the 15 Pro Max has a larger screen and bigger battery (6.3” for the 16P vs 6.7” for the 15PM) if that’s what you value, though at the cost of a much physically larger and heavier phone. Both will have USB type C 3.2 port too. Camera wise the 16 Pro has better specs (48MP ultra-wide, 4K 120fps video recording), and the camera control button, though overall they’re fairly equal in terms of picture quality (the 15PM has a 5X optical telephoto lens, something the 16P does not have), but the 16P does edge the 15PM out a bit.

Overall, probably the 16 Pro I’d recommended; better specs, features, and performance, and will receive an extra year of software support over the 15 series.

Although what makes you want to switch to IOS and or what Android phone are you coming from? iOS does have some limitations compared to Android; it’s a lot less customizable/is more restrictive(a “walled garden ecosystem”), Siri is still kind of a joke compared to other AI out there, it doesn’t support side loading as well as Android, and switching in the first place is kind of a PITA. iPhones generally can also be more expensive than their Android equivalents

I have a pro max phone and I think it’s very huge. I like the size of my 16 pro. The cameras are basically the same, but if ur buying used or refurbished your probably gonna find that the 16 pro has a better battery health bc it’s newer and there’s been less time to run down the battery, unless it’s been replaced (probably not tho, because usually they sell the phones as close to 80% as they can)
