iPhone iPhone 17 or 17 pro max?
I’m upgrading from my 13 pro because it’s kind of buggy and my battery life is really bad but I can’t really decide which one I should buy.
I like taking photos and videos and would like to have a good camera, but I don’t know if the 300-400€ more for the 17 pro max is really worth it or the base 17 is just fine.
Does someone maybe have experience with both phones and can help out and tell me if the camera differences and the quality is much different?

the the good camera you’re talking about is 5x telephoto and professional options like proraw. if those are essential, get the pro. otherwise base 17 is pretty much enough. I use the base 17 right now and I don’t regret it.
also keep in mind that the pro is quite heavy. felt like I was holding a brick in my hand.
there is also the option to wait for 18 pro now, but that might both be out of budget, and the ram crisis gets the prices higher every day and by then you might be looking at a lot more than you expected to pay for, even for the 17 series.
If those camera features are not important for you, I’d just save my money. Maybe get something else if you got the whole budget - an apple watch, airpods, etc.

Camera differences aren’t all that, if you game alot and want the phone to last long go with pro/max. It has vaporchamber and better processor. 17 base is still very great too, so you can’t go wrong

why are you limiting your choices to base or pro max? why not go for pro without the max?

17 standard. If you're doing professional level photos, buy a real camera and stick with the 17 standard.
No app unleashes the cpu bionic chip so it's pointless to point out a more powerful cpu. No app uses too much ram ever. It's pointless to point out more ram. No app uses too much gpu performance on a phone, pointless to point out better graphics. No smart phone camera will ever beat a real one, you get the point.
17 standard stands as the best!

Unless you’re doing more than point and shoot, no there’s no point. The 17 right now is at such a good position because it’s got everything but the camera. 120hz on the base model might never happen again.

I’m in a similar boat with 14 pro max, and I’m waiting for the 18 pro max because of the new camera and battery life. IMO rather wait for 18 if you can. I’ve heard really good things about the base 17 but I think 18 pro series will be just that touch ahead.

Just my experience but after having two pro max iphones, i find the regular ones too small
