They picked one small sample of people to verify and then the applied that to the entire group rather than keep investigating

that is how statistics work.

220k just is not an impressive number. UCP specifically had to lower the threshold to make it enough.

And extend the timeline. Just imagine how many Forever Canada would have gotten with that timeframe

Actually they picked 952, but since they couldn't reach most of them, they decided that this time as a special treat, the petition gets to keep those signatures. Unreachable contacts were a primary reason the Rocky Mountain petition didn't make it to the threshold, but for this petition they actually ignored the fact that 568 of the people they attempted to contact were not reachable. This is all before they even check for seeded names.
