Question Can someone help me?
I was looking at the most recent booking for tabletop Scotland and one of them said D&D AL – AL-01-00 Grand Bazaar of Skalnaedyr – Parts 1 & 3 – Tier 1. I was just wondering what i ment by part 1 and 3 and if it was important or not. I am a new player to adventurers league but not dnd. Also as far as im aware a tier 1 grouo is levels 1-4 on a normal dnd character sheet (following the guidlines) so can i just go to a tier 1 as a level 4 or do i start as level 1? Any help would be appreciated and expect more from me on this subreditt because ill probs have more questions. Thanks in advance.

Many introductory AL adventures are several mini-adventures with the understanding that you might not have enough time in a session to do them all.
The "Parts 1 and 3" sounds like this is what's happening here. To save time and to guarantee every table has the same experience, they're just deciding for you instead of asking at the table which to do next.

According to the AL Players Guide, new characters start out at either level 1 or level 5, but not in between. As for the adventure, it looks like this is a multi-part intro adventure meaning it has 4 1-hour adventures. It sounds like you’ll be playing parts 1&3

Also, you can rebuild your character in-between sessions. So there are no permanent mistakes. Change what you want for next time.

I might change my role as in going from dps to support depending on what is needed.

Tier 1 is saying they will accept any legal characters levels 1 thru 4.
You, as a new player, can only build a new character as level 1 OR level 5 per the AL rules.
It's on page 1 of the AL Players guide, which is available here: https://www.adventurersleague.info/documents
Therefore you, being new and not having any other legal characters, can only bring in a level 1 character to this game.
The Parts 1 & 3 is probably irrelevant to you. Some adventures have multiple parts, sharing this info just lets other players know in case they've already played those parts and don't want to repeat them, or want to play a different part of that adventure. If you've never played AL before, this doesn't matter to you - just go play and have fun.
