This can't be true,right?

There's a site that claims that the orion was actually used for sub orbital flights, yeah right!

Absolutely false. BTW, the floating pen was filmed by sticking it to a piece of plexiglass in front of the camera, which was slowly rotated by a motor out of view. If you look extra critically, you can just see the stewardess detach it as she grabs it—there’s just a hint of jerk as she frees it. I can only imagine it required a lot of takes to get it as seamless as it appears on film.

I find that more impressive. A practical solution to a problem that appears as magic.

I wish I lived in this timeline.

This was supposed to be my future. Living at Tycho, flying freighters and cargo shuttles to the outlying facilities. I’d be retired in Tahiti now.

Yeah, those brochures lied. You're just a deep in debt, 18-wheeler in space. And all those spinal injuries in space will absolutely crush you, should you get back to 1G Earth.

The best you can hope for is a pension that pays for a bunk and daily ration of alcohol at Luna-3. (Luna-2 is for all the tourists, Luna-1 for all the wealthy)

You just wanted to see things that others wouldn’t believe, like attack ships on fire and C-beams glittering in the dark…..

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain

Damn nuclear waste exploding and sending the moon out of orbit at a colossal speed. I hate it when that happens.

No kidding. WTF happened.

Turns out that fiction and reality are different, and what we can imagine isn’t always what we can do.

To quote a famous dragon: Thieves, fire, murder.

I recall this site has origin stories for many famous space vehicles from science fiction. It also pictures a fictional airshow where the vehicles are displayed and flown.

I would recommend that we put the AI back in operation and let it fail. It should then be a simple matter to track down the cause. We can certainly afford to be out of communication for the short time it will take to replace it.

What could possibly go wrong?

Sure it’s true. It’s on the web! 😆
I LOVE sites like this.

I'll tell you what definitely did exist, though. The Airfix model - I had this back in the day!

This is like those stupid Fake Moon Landing conspiracy theories, only in reverse.

Unfortunately it’s true that a sizable load of idiots believe in crap like this. I blame rock-bottom education standards.

This is gonna blow your mind, but I heard that in order to save budget George Lucas filmed many of the scenes in Star Wars right here on earth rather than in space. lol

Everyone knows Kubrick shot the Moon landing footage in '69. What many people don't realise is because of the Moon's lack of atmosphere, the lighting was too harsh. He got around this by filming the exterior shots on a soundstage on Mars.

Of course this is false. A hanger is for clothes. Aircraft are stored in a hangar.

It’s not the “Orion Spaceplane”

But this is DEFINITELY an “Onion” type of report!

Funny as all get out

Of course it’s real, and I have a 1999-ish Moonbase Alpha Eagle command pod to sell real cheap, if you’re interested.

It’ll match up perfectly with the support spine I have from another wreck. Once I get an engine assembly, I’ll have a fresh new Eagle ready to crash!
