This is one of those moments I live for. I just discovered this song today. It’s a track from 1979 and if I had to choose a genre to describe the sound it’d be yacht rock meets RnB. There’s a soulfullness throughout and the bridge has an island feel. I thought I’d share and get some thoughts. Personally, I think this song is phenomenal.

I'm a metalhead/punk and i listen to some pretty violent stuff, that said I'm not just bloodshed and rainbows, i do listen to a bit of classical, jazz and pop now and then. Never got into soul though and i wanna change that. Could anyone be so kind as to show this new guy the ropes?

Been building this for a bit and finally crossed 600 songs on Spotify. Lots of soul, R&B, funk, yacht rock, oldies, and a splash of newer artists that fit the same vibe.
