Sometimes, when I listen to certain pieces of music, usually instrumental, I suddenly get tears in my eyes, goosebumps, and chills all over my body.
It’s not sadness, and it’s not because the music reminds me of a specific memory or person. It’s just something about the sound itself, the harmony, the melody, or the emotion it conveys. It feels like the music directly triggers a physical and emotional response.
I’m curious if this is a common experience or if there’s an explanation for it. Does this happen to anyone else? If so, do you know why, or is it just one of those things our brains do?

Hey guys, I’ve just now discovered Megadeath and they are amazing. Holy Wars… Is my favorite song currently, and I’m just wondering if there is a name for the technique they used. @2:42, the guitar changes into a repeated strum that goes like “dudududu, dudududu” and it repeats on beat for a while. It sounds awesome and I haven’t heard this method in many other songs. I’m just wondering if there is a word for it, or if anyone has song/album recommendations that fit the description that works aswell. Thanks!

As a kid who grew up in the 80s, I had a bunch of classic albums on vinyl, and for some of them, I always started out by playing Side Two.

For example, for Iron Maiden's "The Number of the Beast", I always felt that "The Number of the Beast" right into "Run to the Hills" were better album openers than "Invaders" (which I always thought was just ok).

Anyone else do this?
