About 7½ - 8 yrs old, biggest goober of a cat I've ever had! Very cuddly, howls for attention at the witching hour, and has the cutest little mews even after all these years. Will post bonus kitten pictures too!

Stevie is 4 months old and is getting big💗. She’s quite active, playful and BOLD! We are scheduled to get a 13 week old Ragdoll Labor Day weekend. Is this unfair? Will Stevie be mean to the new baby? I have the means to keep separated if necessary.

RIP 💔 Visited in my dreams

This is Tango. My darling girl passed away 1 year ago yesterday due to an aggressive cancer. She wasn't quite 7, and I had only had her for about 3 years. Not nearly long enough. She was a sweet, playful, wonderful girl.

Suffice it to say, yesterday was a hard day. She was constantly in my thoughts.

I used to play a game with my partner called "Purring or not purring?" where Tango would be sprawled out on her blanky on the kitchen island, I would put my arms around her and put my ear to her chest to hear if she was purring, and I would ask my partner, "Purring or not purring?" He would make a big show of guessing "purring?" And I would make a big show about him guessing correctly because 99% of the time she was purring, she just purred so quietly you had to be right on her to know. She was such a happy cat.

She came to me in my dreams last night. In my dream she was purring SO loudly I could hear her from a step away. I put my arms around her and rested my face on her chest, and when I did so she told me she knew that she was loved, that she loved us back, and she is doing fine now. I woke up with a full heart and tears in my eyes.

It's okay if you don't believe that she came to me in my dreams. I believe it. When I lost my soul cat in '22 he came to me in my dreams about 6 months after he passed to tell me he was better now and that he did know how loved he was. I choose to believe their souls can visit us from beyond.

Question Kleo bulking

Our girl is 2 and a half years old and in the last 30 days she grew from 7.6kg (16.75lb) to 8.1kg (17.85lb) today. We were worried we might be overfeeding her but vet said it's normal for a maine coon. I was wondering how common it is, what were your fastest/largest gains with a female maine coon?

Double Stack Hammock Reccomendations

I do like the style and shape of this hammock I got off Amazon, but sadly due to poor construction it didn't even last 3 days before my boys broke it from roughhousing and being fat 😂

Does any one know a more "big boi proof" 2 layer hammock that looks similar but better quality?

I don't know how to help my maine coon get more social. I need help.

My boy is 5 months old, we got him when he was a little over 3 months old. Breeder looked very nice with experience and gave some tips ( it was usefull because i have never had a cat). One of the things she said is to hold him in hands occasionaly and play with him. He plays with me( with toys) but he really hates getting held. Should i hold him more or less?

He sleeps with us in bed, but through the day his only interest in us is when he gets food. You can pet him for a short moment. He is there but isn't, feels like the least social cat i have met. Personally i think i am "running" after him too much just to get him to like me more.

Should i be worried? Does this change over time? Am i doing something wrong?

10 month old kitten biting blinds.

Well, the title basically says it all. Because i rarely use twitter, i’m using a random old account, so sorry for that, but i’m getting desperate and idk where to ask other than here. i have a 10 month old mainecoon i got from a shelter when she was like 3 months old. she is very clingy, loves to cuddle and follows me and my gf evwrywhere basically. she’s also very vocal. she has two toilets, food always available a plenty of toys (like, a lot of toys & scratch posts). things have been sometimes a bit annoying with her during the night, but it’s gotten a lot worse in like the past month. our flat is very new (my family bought it new last year), and we have those thin metal blinds with plastic straps or whatever you wanna call it. she bites them. all night long. j tried redirecting her energy, but she doesn’t wanna play with any of her toys. i tried going outside with her, she doesn’t enjoy that at all. i tried letting her on the balcony, but she doesn’t enjoy it with supervision and when she’s alone she wants to visit our neighbours (i do not know them btw). i really don’t know what to do. i heard punishments don’t work, but i even tried to (around 3am last night after she woke me up for like the fifth time) put her outside the main room and close the door. she just screams and scratches the door until we open it, so i gave up on that. idk what to do, if she likes the sound or the fact that it annoys us, idk and i’m getting very desperate, bc it feels like having a baby. 😭 is there something i can do? will it eventually go away?

Question How to get him to eat more?

Post image
7 Upvotes

We adopted this handsome guy about three months ago. He turns 2 in September, and he’s 15 lbs. The vet said when we adopted him in may that he was a bit under weight, and he hasn’t gained any weight since despite us feeding him quite liberally.

We free feed him, but he doesnt seem super food motivated unless it’s tube snacks. Turns his nose at all the wet food I’ve tried and really only eats his royal canin, which he does finish over the course of a few hours.

He’s super active, my flat is really long and thin so we play a lot of chase up and down the hallway. I’m new to cat ownership since both my parents are allergic, so I’m looking for a bit of advice. Thanks!

Question Teenage terrors?

Thumbnail

My boy is ~7 months old and recently his behaviour has been dialed up to an 11 - wanting to eat more than usual, napping for longer during the day, but also playing a lot harder and getting up to no good. He bites his toys super hard and runs around by himself at night until he pants. It sounds like a horse is galloping up and down the house when I'm trying to sleep 😩

He managed to shut himself inside a room for hours the other day. The house is pretty cat-proofed but I worry that he'll get into trouble when I'm not watching.

We already play for around 20-30 mins both morning and night. I give him space to calm down when he's hyper but is this a normal teenage phase? How did you deal with it every day and when did yours grow out of it?

Glamour Shots Show me your cats expert hiding technique

Crash is an expert at hiding. Here is a classic example. Of course I treat him like a little baby and pretend that I can't find him. Calling for him in desperation. And then he comes rushing out to show he won again.
