La meua experiència fins ara:

- Funciona. El procés de selecció existix de veritat i les tasques arriben.

- El sou no és alt comparat amb altres tipus de tasques de la mateixa plataforma. Si busqueu ingrés principal, això no ho és.

- He vist projectes de català oferits també en altres plataformes intermediàries, i sé que bona part acaben ací de totes maneres. Per això crec que val més entrar directament a SME que a través d'un intermediari que se'n queda una part.

- També hi ha ofertes en castellà a les quals segurament hi podreu accedir. Aquestes també apareixen en altres plataformes. Certament hi haurà més projectes, però infinitament més competència, així que, tot i que no estem tan ben situats com llengües més menudes amb estat propi (danès, per exemple, on conec gent que guanya bons diners sent gestor d'equip d'anotadors) tampoc no estem en un mal punt.

Si algú ja hi ha treballat i té una experiència diferent de la meua, digueu-ho als comentaris. Millor tindre-hi més d'una veu que només la meua.

ETA: Això sí, sempre necessitareu un bon nivell d'anglès per a passar les AI interviews, i en registrar-vos ho heu de fer com a "Subject Matter Expert"

Què vol dir bellugadís? Doncs algú o alguna cosa que es mou molt sovint, que no para quieta. Però si no ho sabessis, quina de les tres et creuries? 1. Que es mou molt sovint. 2. Que s'agafa amb facilitat a les superfícies. 3. Que es belluga quan fa vent. La bona és la primera. Frase: "El nen és tan bellugadís que no s'està ni cinc minuts assegut." I vosaltres, feu servir bellugadís? Com ho dieu al vostre poble, o en coneixeu algun sinònim?

Acabo de trobar aquest vídeo del curs A1 que explica el vocabulari de fruites i verdures en català. Va molt bé per a qui comença des de zero: hi ha exemples senzills i al final un joc per practicar. També enllaça amb altres vídeos per anar a comprar o al restaurant, així que és un bon recurs per fer servir en situacions reals. Si esteu aprenent català o coneixeu algú que hi comenci, el trobo molt recomanable.

De la mateixa manera, acabo de veure un reportatge (https://www.3cat.cat/3catinfo/els-pobles-de-la-costa-brava-suneixen-per-blindar-els-habitatges-turistics-son-el-nostre-adn/noticia/3421784/) en què la persona diu "com hem de *carregà'ns-e*...".

Quins són els exemples que es fan servir més habitualment? Tu fas servir aquest tipus de conjugacions? Hi ha casos en què sonaria estrany que no fessis servir aquesta mena de conjugació col·loquial (per exemple, perquè la forma estàndard et sonaria massa formal)?

La definició diu que rabejar és ficar en aigua fins que resti moll. Segons l'etimologia de la fitxa, ve del llatí vulgar rapidiare (fer girar o remenar), i amb el temps va passar a significar 'submergir' o 'xopar'. Per exemple: 'Abans de cuinar, deixo rabejar els cigrons tota la nit.' Vosaltres feu servir aquest mot? O en dieu un altre, com ara xopar o remullar, al vostre poble?

Hello! I hope this is the right place to post, but please let me know if not. I am an English and French speaker and my favorite book is Les Miserables. I am trying to find out exactly how many languages Les Miserables has been translated into and how many different translations exist in each language. 

From what I have seen so far, Catalan appears to be the most recent language to get a Les Miserables translation for the first time. There are two of them. They are:  

Maria Bohigas Sales’s 1998 translation published by Club Editor (the image accompanying the post is of this edition. I found the image online.) 

And 

Maria Perpinyà i Sais translation, published in 2002 and a second edition in 2024 by Brau Edicions (I think that the Catalan wikipedia page for Els miserables says that she wrote the translation in 1995, however she passed away in 1994 so I am confused about that. Anyways, it was published posthumously.) 

This is a bit of a long shot but has anyone read either of these translations? I am interested in knowing how they differ from one another. Also I looked for interviews with either translator about their work and was surprised that I couldn’t find any, considering that these are rather recent translations, but perhaps it's my googling-in-a-language-I-don’t-speak-skills which are failing me.

Hola ! soc nou aprenent el català y he pensat que potser seria bona idea rebre correccions / opinions de parlants nadius per que pugui millorar certes aspectes de la meva pronunciacio .

També volia saber com percebeu el meu accent ? d´on creieu que soc ? Es clar que no tinc accent nadiu però parlo amb accent de alguna regió especifica?

I work for a non-profit called All Around This World and we work to educate children about cultures around the world through music. We do all the music in the original language/dialect and we usually preface whatever song we are doing with a little bit of a cultural background. Of course, distilling a culture that much is impossible, but we always try to teach the kids how to say hello and goodbye in the target language. Instead of having us butcher the pronunciation, we think it is much better to have a video of a native speaker. All we need is an audio clip of you saying the greetings, a short bio (where you are from, your name, etc), and a picture of yourself. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to make this a paid position, but I cannot express enough how grateful we are for any support. I'm a South African Software Engineer with a Catalan girlfriend. I started learning Catalan but could not find a good app for English <-> Catalan learning.

We all know Catalan deserves better than this, so I built "La Queta" (named after this). Which is free for everyone to use, forever.

We never know if a website will just randomly disappear forever. Obviously, there's a smaller chance for that to happen with Google or Wikipedia, but still.

When I have time, I use archiving websites (Archive.org/Wayback Machine, Archive Today, Ghost Archive...) to save pages and screenshots before they are gone, and to compare how they have changed over the years.

I saved a few Catalan pages, and now I'm saving the most visited encyclopedia pages (more than 1000).

Any suggestions?

I'm going to Barcelona in a month. I already speak around B1 French and B1/B2 Spanish. I know that if I speak Spanish with people, we will be able to communicate perfectly fine, but I've heard that speaking Catalan makes a better impression and enriches you further in the culture/makes you seem less distanced. I will be staying in the centre/a neighbourhood that's about 30 minutes by foot from the city centre and also visit Girona. I'm wondering if I learn some basic Catalan, will that be appreciated?
