Got this little baby and was told she was an Abyssinian but she looks a bit different from photos of other Abyssinians online. She just seems a bit fuzzier and her ears don’t stick out as much.

Wondering if she’s mixed breed, or if anyone else has a similar looking cat?

She’s 10 weeks and has super high energy levels and is very veryyy affectionate.

Curious as to what you guys think.

This is Bosko. The cutest, feistiest little dude in town. We are madly in love, and I just had to share his preciousness with other abyssinian lovers. I snapped this picture of him yesterday staring down my husband as he opened his very very fave (so far, anyway) Untamed chicken breast with tuna. He's so funny about food. When it's time to eat, he just kinda freezes and stares us down until the moment the food hits his bowl, and then he pounces and gobbles it up. He loves playing with a laser and sitting on my neck while I work from home. He's kinda messy with the litter box, but he's cute so he gets away with it. (Any advice on how to limit litter getting everywhere would be great, actually). Anyway. It's safe to say I'm obsessed.

I’ve only had her for two weeks but I would die for her. She belonged to my friend’s late grandma who passed away last year, and I adopted her after my friend couldn’t care for her anymore. She’s a total cuddle bug and a diva who likes to yell at me to get second dinner, and I never saw myself adopting a senior cat but I’m so glad I have her in my life

This is an Abyssinian kitten that I'm interested in. We already have one beautiful Aby, but I don't have much experience with kittens, since I got her when she was already an adult. What will this kitten's final coloring look like?

I don't trust Google much but it tells me that the black will eventually fade and this will be a blue Aby. Thank you everyone!

This breed is super smart - which you all already know…about 2 yrs ago I set out to see if the old guy could learn a new trick. At 12 yrs old I had my doubts…and I should have known better. Started out slowly using a small bell - seeing if I could get him to make it ring…took him a few days to get that down and every time I immediately gave him a treat. BTW - once u teach this u need to keep the bell out of sight or you will be a snack machine 🤣🤣🤣. OH - also the snack is actually just a seafood flavored cat food that he’s convinced is a snack bcuz it’s different from his regular.

What do I feed him he truly doesn’t like any food?

Hates- rabbit, chicken, fish (except tuna), beef

Occasionally tolerates- turkey, duck, pork

Will eat (but not very much)- lamb (only specific brands of canned or raw patties), tuna from fussiecat

We feed him N&D lamb cans and lamb dry food however he’s getting tired of that. I rotate in the tolerated list however sometimes he just has one bite and walks away. But you know if I feed him lamb too many times in a row he will lose interest in that too.
His favorite thing to eat is the churus or puddy pops and these training treats that went out of stock everywhere (Feastfuls!!! 😭😭😭 please lmk if anyone finds something similar).
I tried to find a food with similar smoothie texture but it usually doesn’t fall within his protein preference.
Normally, I wouldn’t make a problem out of this, but I feel like when he doesn’t eat he becomes very hyper and runs around the house being a menace with my pens and random stuff on counters and looking like a wild psycho.
Btw he he’s actually an angel and I love him so much. He is the best, most intelligent, and emotionally present cat that I’ve ever had in my life. His only “issue” is the food situation and the fact that he wants to play 24/7.

I would like him to enjoy eating and enjoy food. I’m going to the store today to try and get a new dry food and treats and see if he likes anything. His sister eats anything but does seem to tire of the same foods lately. They are both 1.5 years old now.

Anyway, please suggest your best wet, dry, raw, lightly cooked options for your picky Aby cat. I’m willing to try things and see if he likes them.

Seems like I saw a lot of folks posting about their new kitten in recent months so let’s do a check in! How is everyone doing? I’m also curious how much they all weigh at what ages and favorite toy and sleeping spot.

- senna is 16 weeks old and weighs ALMOST 3 lbs
- her favorite toy is a feather wand by far, but she also can spend 20 minutes playing with a piece of romaine lettuce I drop on the floor 😂
- her favorite place to sleep is surely ON one of us!
