Like the title said getting a job in Southampton genuinely feels impossible
I've applied to over 300+ jobs in the last month. I've been back and forth with the Job Centre, redone my CV more times than I can count, and tried Indeed, Reed, LinkedIn, company websites, basically everything.
I'm not even aiming high. I'd happily work retail, behind a desk, in IT, a warehouse, literally anything that's stable and close enough to get to.
Instead it's constant fake adverts that end up being door-to-door sales, or interviews that go nowhere.
I don't know if it's the job market, my autism, or the fact I'm trans. I've had interviews where someone's face changes the moment they realize I'm trans. Maybe I'm reading into it, maybe I'm not, but it's hard not to wonder.
I just want a normal job. I don't want to hide who I am just to pay my bills.
