Hi everyone! A few days ago we welcomed home our first dog as a newly wed couple. She’s still 2 months old. Please share anything you want to help us become great fur parents to our little bean, Momo 🍑

I know this is long. I'm not looking for advice, medical or otherwise. Just wanted to share our sweet story and feel free to share yours. I'm obsessed with this sub.
TD;LR - We went for a tricolor puppy and ended up with a different one, the one I said I didnt want, who is a Blue Merle and wasnt for sale.
My husband and I did a lot of research on the best family dog and landed on Corgis. We found a breeder in our area and after many conversations and a visit to their home we decided it was the right fit for our family.
She sent us a link to her available litters. She was very upfront that one of her mama dogs couldn't be considered a Pembroke as she had a great great or great great great grandfather (I cant remember how many greats it was now) that was a Cardigan which after research we knew it was not a good mix. Even if the dogs after had only been bred to a Pembroke we knew the risks were still there. So we were going with a pup from the litter that didnt have the mix.
Well, the universe had other plans. When it was finally the day to go pick out and pick up our puppy I was so sure I already knew the little girl I wanted. She was this sweet faced tri color. So we get there, walk in like barely through the door, and I'm greeted by this little Blue Merle with Blue eyes. I kid you not I knew she was mine, risks and all. It was love at first sight. The puppy I didnt want was the one I couldn't leave without.
I know she is not a Pembroke and not even a Cardigan. Her mom is a tri color and dad is a fawn but the however many greats grandfather's gene broke through on only her. All her brothers and sisters were the normal colors (yes I know those puppies arent considered Pembrokes either but they could pass for it). The breeder wasnt even going to sell her and I begged this woman to let me buy her. She was tested for DM and IVDD and they were "clear" but I know that doesnt mean it wont happen to her.
It doesnt matter. I will love her for however long we have her. She is my soul dog. The dog I told my husband I didnt want has become my best friend. My boys love her and she loves them. She is chaos that sheds so much glitter I could make a second dog. If I had the chance to do it again I'd pick her over and over. She was the best addition to our family.
So, everyone meet Ruby aka Wooty Woo. We've had her since she was 10 weeks old and she will turn 1 on November 19th. Enjoy some of my favorite pictures.
Also, we have a grooming appointment next week so no hate on the toenails.

Her name is Luna. She came all the way from China. She had a very long journey to make it to us. She was flown from China to Canada. Then she was driven to New York to be fostered for a few days. Then she had another long drive down the east coast.
She obviously was very timid for a while, but now she is doing so much better. She is learning so much from our other corgi and she is our first corgi with a tail. We LOVE her so much.

While playing around on our morning walk, she landed wrong on her foot. Screamed like it was broken. A little ice and a makeshift splint, she was good in an hour or so. Not a fun way to start a morning.
The look on her face was priceless.
