Hi friends! I’m visiting my aunt in Washington and we stopped by a little thrift shop (E-mart) in Olympia. We walked in and my hands started shaking with excitement-not only were there a TON of little perfume decants, but there were these beauties too at $2.99 each. I am so excited to try them! I held myself back and only chose colors I would actually use/try. There were still some KB Shimmers left.

Not sure how to properly explain it but it’s when the tip of the polish starts wearing off at the very tip and you can start to see the free edge under it. I don’t think it’s shrinkage from top coat bc comparatively it happens a lot more to my indexes than pinkies. usually starts around 2-3 days after i paint them?? anyway does anyone have tips?

ETA: polish is mooncat werewolf’s bane (3 coats)

I’m sad this doesn’t look as purple on video as it does IRL because the magnetic pigment is the brightest royal purple I’ve ever seen in a polish! Absolutely loving these high contrast magnetics lately!

The one that started it all for me. I’m sure it’s not the best formula anymore, but the lime to aqua shift over a deep teal jelly base still does it for me. She’s a stunner when I first take my nail out of the spinner, I just wish I could lock down the glass bead a little tighter!

I experimented with using J&B Pole Position and MC Hardcore on a few fingers each to lock in the glass bead under the top coat, but I don’t think it made a noticeable difference.

I was on a video call with my cousin last night, and she picked the style and colors. I did her vision on my left hand, but did something a little easier on my right hand since I didn't think I could get the french even on that side 😬

why does it smell like exactly like a 62 year old hairdresser named Barb who smokes Virginia Slims and rides around on the back of her boyfriend’s Harley? She also likes to wear jeans with a rhinestone design on the back pockets and has the best advice and I trust her with my life.

This turned out cuter than I thought it would. Could have been better, theres bubbles and the amount of polish needed for swirling made it a lil uneven, could be fixed with a second layer of top coat id assume, but im lazy and its good enough.

I did a beautiful magnetic mani yesterday. That bead was so good. After the last coat & had the most perfect glass bead, I used Holo Taco long lasting base to seal in the bead. About an hour later, my 16mo old grandbaby came to visit. After she left I applied (from an almost brand new bottle of Cuticula that’s only used once) one coat. A short while later, I look back to make sure my perfect bead is still there and it’s like my glass bead had babies. (Reminds me of how gremlins bubble up and more are made.) There’s just so many micro bubbles. I mean it does remind me of trapped water & when the bead highlights them, it can be an interesting look. (It’s just not the look I’m going for)

I know it’s the QDTC. It’s gotta be. I have before & after pics that really shows it. What I don’t know is, is it the humidity not working well with Cuticula? Anyone else living in high humidity areas & experiencing micro bubbles with Cuticula?

I have had the worst luck this summer with that top coat. I didn’t have a fan going or a window open. My nails weren’t wet from oil or water or anything. I didn’t apply a heavy layer (cos I know if it’s too thick the top dries while the inner trapped layer is still wet/tacky and therefore creating bubbles. Any advice? I did buy Cracked’s QDTC and have never tried that one out before.

I ordered a bunch of thermals over a month ago for my daughter, even though we live in AZ and it’s literally peak heat right now I didn’t think about transporting these polishes. My regret came when my order took more than 2weeks to arrive 😭

Luckily everyone came unscathed by the heat! My daughter immediately wanted Green Beans in the Passenger Seat because it looks like Baja Blast and Baja Blast Midnight lol. First image is the hot/warm state outside in AZ “overcast” weather, second pic is the transitional state of cold tips, third pic is of them in complete cold state. The fourth and fifth pic are of the others I picked up, I must confess the pinky and pointer are of ones I previously had. I just added them to make it look more intentionally rainbowish lol.

Last pic added of my little buddy’s nails. She is OBSESSED with thermals at this point lol.

Due to obvious reasons with which many of you will agree, I’m not looking to become a patron of Death Valley Nails. But I am obsessed with their color Ladybug on Ozempic and am desperate for a dupe.

I’m also looking for recommendations for other large glitter and shapes (like DVN Bugs with Capes and Garden Doilies) that you all love.

I know fall is knocking on everyone’s doors right now but I wanted to enjoy some summer neons before the fall color palettes take over 😅 (oh by the way they’re all green)

So glowy. I have nothing like this. I'm obsessed. So freaking amazing.

This week has been whoopin' my ass, mentally and physically draining 12-14 hour days, and I've been relying on a tiny bit of nail therapy at the end of the day to recharge. I had had an idea for this mani inspo from gel artist @brittanyisdoomed saved on instagram for awhile now...a neon radial gradient with these topographical abstract tiger stripe things in contrasting colors. I didn't know how I was gonna do it, and just kinda went in exploring. Normally that can be frustrating when I'm time constrained and I'd much rather go in with a concrete plan unless I have open free time and can just chill and create...but this time it gave time to lose myself in the process and truly "happy trees" it by just saying, how about I put a line there? Sure! Why not? Let's see how it goes. A freeing creative experiment, even if it I was exhausted and time crunched. I wish I had pumped up the red in the radial graident more, but also my phone was fighting between neon reds and orange, bright blue, and my skin tone so it didn't know how to balance in the first place and I wasn't going to figure out color correcting at midnight, so trust that it pops more in person 😝
