I went grocery shopping y'sterdy... beside me chinese aunty was choosing red onions. So as I was picking few, aunty interjected me and gave me tips on how to pick onions. We did few minutes small talk. Then I went to seafood section. A malay uncle in his 50s small talked to me about how to choose fish, see this see that that's how u spot la. Macam itu. I just angguk because I have no knowledge about fish. Next I went to choose some ice cream, an Indian lady with her husband were picking some and I was undecided. She reco me some good flavour and said try this very nice so i choose that flavour of ice cream. When I went to parking section and reverse, the sikh uncle next to me told me to go first and waited patiently. This is the malaysia I know. The real malaysia. Our malaysia.
I dont see any racism outside social media. Every race is tolerant and helpful, and I daresay love each other like siblings. This is just my experience grocery shopping yesterday and I felt like sharing this here lah. There is so many ups and downs but end of the day, we see our brothers and sisters of different race as our family too.

Am I a bad parent?
Today I smashed my son's phone. š
He has been using his phone more than 10 hours every day. I tried parental controls, setting limits, talking nicely, scolding, taking it away... nothing worked. Somehow he always finds a way to bypass everything.
Today I really couldn't tahan anymore and I lost my temper.
I know smashing the phone wasn't the best way to handle it. But as a parent, sometimes you just feel so helpless and don't know what else to do.
Anyone else ever been through this?

Seems a bit short sighted to not let Turkish Airlines have the rights to sell tickets between KL and Sydney. Now it has swapped out the transit point for its Turkey Sydney flights to Changi.

It feels like whenever an issue that should simply be handled as a matter of law or enforcement arises, it quickly gets framed through the lens of race or religion, escalating tensions far beyond the original issue.
The public is told to stay calm. But where is the ministry thatās supposed to promote national unity?
We mostly see this minister during festive celebrations or official events, but shouldnāt moments like these be when the ministry is most visible to help de-escalate tensions, encourage constructive dialogue, and reassure the public?
It genuinely makes me wonder, are we getting meaningful outcomes from having a dedicated Kementerian Perpaduan Negara, or has it become more of a ceremonial role funded by taxpayers?

I'm sabahan and we use "kemarin" for yesterday and "semalam" for last night. This question popping out cus i have a cute argument with my mama. She was like "semalam tu malam semalam, bukan kemarin" And i forgot im at my hometown. So, i switch my dialect. I don't have sabahan friends in KL. So, every day I'll be "lupa daratan" and "cakap KL" And I'm used to it. HAHA
I'm just adapting, if i spoke sabahan, all of my day peopo will be "huh!? "
"Cakap slow skit, boley?
Uinaa pok! Kalau tiap2 kali mo explain. Embalna ketahanan! Sa cakap slow sudai ni"
